In order to maintain, develop, and exploit honey flows, the beekeeper must know the characteristics of many plants as well as what they offer to the bees. Some provide only nectar, others only pollen, some both nectar and pollen, and others honeydew. Therefore, it is inconceivable for a beekeeper not to know the flora of the area where they have placed or are interested in placing their apiary. In this book, an effort is made to present the main characteristics of 170 beekeeping plants (wild or cultivated) through texts and photographs. Additionally, a list with the pollen color chart of 120 beekeeping plants is provided, along with preventive and protective measures for nomadic beekeeping and useful contact information (Port Authorities - Forest Services). Finally, a first attempt is made to introduce the flora of various regions of Greece so that the beekeeper, with the help of the provided information, can seek out these areas to exploit the different honey flows.
