I was not satisfied at all, even though I was excited when I bought it because of its design.
I found the surface with the slope in the center and the holes for the fats to run very nice.
The meat sticks to the surface and burns in the areas where there is resistance. I would not recommend it
Difficult to clean, meats stick, especially burgers and fish.
After 1.5 years it became moist, presumably from washing, and it releases the safety.
I am already looking for its replacement.
It seemed like a good idea when we bought it. We wanted it to grill quickly (chicken fillets, steaks, burgers, and vegetables) on a regular basis. We liked the idea of the ceramic plate, thinking it would be easy to clean, and the glass lid, thinking it would limit the smells in the kitchen.
Unfortunately, reality was a bit different, and it didn't end up being suitable for regular use for the following reasons:
1) Firstly, it looks nice but is bigger than we expected. This is subjective and not a serious problem; in fact, it is useful when cooking for many people.
2) It has strong resistance and heats up quickly. However, the resistance (in a U shape) is integrated into the ceramic plate, resulting in uneven heat distribution. The grilling is not affected much, but the residues and fats burn very quickly in the areas of the resistance. The result is more smoke and burnt residues that stick to the plate.
3) The plate is not as non-stick as we expected and doesn't clean as easily. Especially in the areas of the resistance, due to the problem described in (2), cleaning is difficult, and after a few grilling sessions, it is no longer possible to clean it completely. Overall, cleaning takes time (lid + plate + liquid container), it's not something one would want to do daily.
4) The smoke is somewhat limited by the lid, but the problem is not solved. Especially if the grilling lasts more than 10-15 minutes.
In conclusion:
* The issue with the resistance and heat distribution seems to be a design flaw.
* It's okay if someone wants to grill occasionally and, if possible, on the balcony.
For everyday use, we ultimately preferred a ceramic pan-grill that does an amazing job, is smaller, has even heat distribution, and is very easy to clean. We replaced the olive oil with sesame oil (which, like sunflower oils, has a higher smoke point), and this helped somewhat with the smoke issue.
