I needed it postoperatively and it is very stable, without feeling like it will burst! If you are between two sizes, choose the smaller one, as recommended to me by the store where I bought it, and they were absolutely right. I should also mention, because it is not mentioned in the description, that it opens at the bottom (like a bra clasp)
