I am very satisfied. Coming from inkjet, I saw a big difference in my wallet. For amateur work, it's just fine. It also has cheap toner.
Purchased to work as a network printer via wifi.
The installation for wifi is a bit hit or miss but it may also be due to some routers that have flaws in their wps.
It prints instantly without any problems from all computers.
From mobile phones or tablets (always android) you need the brother plugin on the printers preferably not to have any other Plugin or printer installed and again it is a matter of hours whether the printer will appear or not and unknown if it will take a minute or ten.
There is constant paper jamming in letter printing and you have to disassemble it to remove the paper.
Generally, I don't know why all printers (at least the economical ones) have to be such a hassle to connect to the network. I couldn't get the WPS to work (with 3 different access points), so in the end, I had to download a utility from their website (which I don't know how long they will release updates for it to work with later versions of Mac) in order to connect it.
Apart from that (which is not insignificant), it works okay (tested with Mac, iPhone, couldn't manage with Android). Visually, it's meh.
I bought it last year for €90. I see that it has increased in price by 50%!
Its construction is made of good quality plastic, I have no complaints. Anyway, a printer stays in one place, it doesn't bother me.
It takes about 20 seconds from the moment it receives the command until it starts printing.
The printing is instant. About 1 second per page.
It connects easily to wifi and is controlled from the mobile without any problems.
It accepts non-branded toner and drums, personally I print less than 10 pages per day and the consumables last me about 1 year with around €10-15.
At €90, it was a steal.
At €130, which is its current price, I still think it's worth it.
For home use it is flawless and economical. I have not yet replaced the ink even though I use it regularly. A little slower to print from a mobile phone. Update with regular home use, I replaced the original ink in about 1 year, it still works very satisfactorily
Very good printer for its price and intended use. It prints quickly and with good quality. I use it via wifi. The wifi connection was very easy and fast. The package includes a CD with instructions and drivers, but I downloaded them from the internet. There is also a good app for printing from mobile devices. It works very well.
Oddly enough, the package included instructions in printed form, but they were in French and Dutch.
The only thing that is not easy is the installation via wifi. When you do it, everything is a piece of cake! I bought it for its cheap consumables and the convenience of not having a chip in its toner! So when the reminder for low toner level appears, you press the start button 7 times and it disappears!
P.S. From what I saw, do not change the toner before it finishes and it still has a lot left!

It doesn't need a replacement, but I bought a toner just to have it, cost 4.4!!! It recognized it immediately without me doing anything! I didn't even have to press the start button 7 times or anything! It only printed a test page and that was it! It saw that it was new and showed it as full!!! I saved myself from HP, which constantly gave me errors and ruined the inks, you see, inject...
Generally, I prefer Brother printers for cost efficiency reasons, as I do a lot of printing. They haven't let me down. Just be careful with the instructions when changing toner or drum, so you don't reset the counter
I have had it for 1 day, so regarding durability over time, I will get back to that later. What I want to tell potential buyers is that there is NO USB cable included for installation via PC. However, if your router has a WPS button, then the connection is made via WIFI in 3 seconds! That's exactly how long it took me. After that, you can print from wherever you want. You download the app for android/ios/windows, and during installation, it finds it immediately, and you are ready. As for the printing time, I didn't have others to compare it to, but it takes a few seconds. Regarding the noise, it makes a simple noise; it's not a bulldozer. That's all for now.
UPDATE: After almost 3 years, it feels like the first day I bought it. Amazing savings, guys.
Well, after a lot of searching I ended up here!!! I wanted a printer to print only from my mobile!! The connection to the network was done in three minutes and with the brotber app on the mobile, printing is very easy!!! Attention, you must have a modem with a dps button and you connect automatically!!! When you open the printer, the connection is very fast!!! I think I made a good purchase!!

I was scared by what I read about the installation difficulties, but nevertheless I went ahead and bought the printer!
I believe this particular one is a star and I will make many good prints! It's fast and it takes 3-4 seconds to warm up!
Well, the installation is very easy!
You press the WPS button on the router and immediately after you press (and hold for a while) the button located below the printer's ON/Off button!
Once it is connected to the router, this button will permanently be lit yellow!
For a computer, you need the CD to install the drivers (at least that's what I did)
and for mobile phones or tablets, you need the application that comes up first if you search for the word Brother in the Google Play Store (Brother iprint&scan) and follow the steps after allowing access to what it asks for!
I think the toner needs a shake before you place it (following the instructions in the images, even if they are in French)
Just installed the printer and tried my first two prints. The negatives are that it doesn't have a manual in Greek or English (just an introduction?). I easily installed the factory toner, but on the contrary, I had difficulty installing the drivers and setting up the Wi-Fi. Finally, everything is fine. For the driver installation, I needed a USB cable and initially, after my first print, it showed a toner absence message. It seemed like the toner needed shaking. I printed my first 5-6 pages and everything works well with good print quality, although I should note that it makes noise. The small size it occupies made a positive impression on me. I will work with it and if I discover anything else, I will come back with a new review.

The quality is very good.
The connection is very easy, at first I was scared because it didn't have a USB cable and I was wondering how I would connect it to my PC for the first time. I connected it to the WiFi (took half a minute) and the computer recognized it on its own even though it is connected with LAN and didn't require any drivers or anything, I just opened a PDF, clicked print, and it had recognized the printer, I sent it and it printed. On the mobile phone, everything is also fine, you download an app and a plugin if you want to print directly from the file without having to open it with the Brother app.
The only problem I encountered at the beginning was that it kept jamming paper constantly. Even though I had set it up correctly according to the manual, 3 out of 5 times it would get stuck inside and stop, then I had to open it and remove the paper, etc. It was a big disappointment but eventually I found the trick.
-> Take out the drum-toner and put it back in its place but don't push it all the way in, then simply close the printer's lid and let the lid close as it goes down to lock the toner. After that, it never jammed again.
I believe it's worth it, I would definitely recommend it. If you don't use it every day, laser is the way to go and if you only need plain text, you don't need color. I also don't consider the scanner necessary anymore with the camera on mobile phones.
