Why use a filament dryer?

3D printing filaments tend to absorb moisture from the environment, with some materials being more prone than others. This high moisture absorption can lead to issues during the extrusion process, such as clogging and poor object adhesion on the print surface, as well as various quality problems on the final 3D printed product. Filament dryers are devices that remove excess moisture from the filament through heat or heat and desiccant.

Printing during the drying process

The SUNLU FilaDryer S4 features a design with dimensions of 458mm x 218mm x 312mm. It can hold up to 4 rolls of 1kg filament. Additionally, it is equipped with eight filament holes and PTFE tubes, meeting users' needs for drying multiple filaments and simultaneous printing while drying with multiple printers.

High compatibility

The Sunlu FilaDryer S4 is designed to dry a wide range of materials, from PLA (including wood/marble/silk), ASA, ABS, PA, PC, PETG, HIPS to TPU. The most impressive feature of the FilaDryer S4 is that it can accommodate 4 spools of 1 kg filament and can work with filament diameters of 1.75 mm, 2.85 mm, and 3.00 mm.

More than efficiency

The SUNLU FilaDryer S4 is equipped with a PTC heating element and a triple fan arrangement, thus demonstrating increased heating efficiency, capable of heating up to 70°C in less time. The PTC heater has a heating power of 330W, 6.9 times more powerful than the SUNLU FilaDryer S2.

Moisture management

In addition to ensuring the ideal thermal conditions for filament drying, the FilaDryer S4 also regulates humidity levels in the cabin. The device effectively removes any generated moisture through eight filament holes in its chassis.

The FilaDryer S4 is equipped with a precise humidity sensor that displays the current humidity level inside the dryer when not in operation. Once the humidity reaches or exceeds 50%, the FilaDryer will automatically activate to prevent any further moisture exposure.

LCD touch screen

The FilaDryer S4 features a spacious LCD touch screen mounted on the front of the unit for easy access. This screen boasts a quick 1-second response and presents important information such as temperature, time, humidity, material type, and countdown timer. Users can adjust the drying temperature within the range of 35-70 °C.
