The book Jenny Tsimpiskaki – Painting Legacy is dedicated to the memory and work of the painter Jenny Tsimpiskaki, featuring some of the most characteristic paintings from her long and diverse artistic journey, as well as rich material from her social and charitable contributions through art, teaching, and public involvement, with the greatest emotional and moral satisfaction always being the happiness she derived from bringing art into every home and the joy of painting into every child's soul, with love, passion, and a smile. During her artistic career, Jenny Tsimpiskaki created series of high aesthetic and representational acuity with both modern and traditional orientation such as the Dodekaorto, the Fires, Byzantine Doors and Elements, Ancient and Byzantine Monuments of Macedonia, images and places of Greece, and more. The Dodekaorto, which is perhaps her most characteristic work, is a series of abstract icons depicting the twelve most important feasts of our church related to the life of Christ. The expression of the emotional state and feelings of the figures is achieved through the posture of the bodies and according to the types of Orthodox iconographic tradition, with a perfectly balanced and innovative combination of modern and classical artistic methods. The Byzantine Doors and Elements is a wonderful, significant depiction of doors with their literal and metaphorical symbolism as passages, obstacles, or challenges of life. The Fires is a play of the subconscious with the primal fear caused by the raging fire and the awe that fills our souls with this impressive yet destructive event. The Ancient and Byzantine Monuments of Macedonia as a legacy of the historical and artistic heritage of our homeland through the millennia. The painter also created exceptional compositions with multifaceted combinatorial depictions of historical figures as well as portraits of personalities such as Nikos Kazantzakis and Melina Mercouri that adorn museums, associations, and institutions throughout Greece. Kastoria, the beloved homeland of the painter, was a permanent and continuous source of inspiration and creation until her last solo painting exhibition at the Vafopoulio Cultural Center in Thessaloniki.
