The XCD 3.4/75P uses a linear stepper motor and a lighter, smaller focusing lens group, allowing for faster and more precise focusing. When combined with medium format digital cameras of the X System or V System that support PDAF, it offers a fast, silent, accurate, and flexible focusing experience.

The lens features a compact leaf shutter unit that operates with minimal vibration and noise, allowing for shooting in quiet environments. It supports speeds up to 1/2000 second, facilitating the capture of fast-moving subjects.
