Microfiber – what does it mean?

Microfibers are very fine artificially created fibers, usually made from polyester or polyamide. When compared to silk fibers, they are 2 times finer, 3 times finer than cotton fibers, 8 times finer than wool, and 100 times finer than human hair. Products made from microfibers are incredibly soft to the touch and very lightweight.

What does this mean for a quilt?

It is very lightweight like a feather, soft, and thus hugs the body.
