Microfiber – what does this mean?

Microfibers are very fine artificially created fibers, usually made from polyester or polyamide. When compared to silk fiber, they are 2 times thinner, 3 times thinner than cotton fiber, 8 times thinner than wool, and 100 times thinner than human hair. Products made from microfibers are incredibly soft to the touch and very lightweight. The fabrics also have a wonderful drape.

What does this mean for a comforter?
