*Based on the replacement of 8 filters, as indicated by the machine. The actual number of cups depends on the selected coffee varieties, as well as the rinsing and cleaning processes.
Easy cleaning thanks to the fully removable brewing unit system
The removable brewing unit is the core component of every fully automatic machine and must be cleaned regularly. The removable brewing unit can be thoroughly cleaned with a simple rinse under the tap.
Perfect temperature, aroma, and crema in every cup*
The Aroma Extract system finds the perfect balance between brewing temperature and aroma extraction by maintaining the water temperature between 90 and 98°C, while also adjusting the water flow rate, so you can always enjoy the perfect coffee.
*based on a temperature of 70-82 °C

Excellent and coffee result at a high level after the necessary adjustments.
This is the second espresso machine I am buying with the EP3249/70.
That says it all.
WARNING: The package does not include the water filter; you will need to purchase it separately (cost 15 euros). This does not mean you will have a problem, especially if the water you put in the tank already comes from filtered water at your tap.
TIP: After many uses, I use HAUSBRANDT GOURMET coffee beans (blue packaging), with the grind setting between the 6th and 7th dot. Result in espresso ---> EXCELLENT
I believe the machine is worth its price. In a very short time, you have a ready double espresso without making a mess in the kitchen. It has saved me and made my life easier! I don't drink cappuccino often, so I can't judge the frother. I've had it for a month, so it's still early to write any negative comments.
Now let's go: The following factors play a role:
- What coffee you will use.
- What grind setting you will choose.
- Whether you will use tap water or bottled.
- What settings you will make on the machine.
The manual that comes with the machine doesn't have anything special nor does it answer many questions. You need to go to the Philips website and search for more information. Unfortunately, I haven't seen anyone on YouTube presenting this model in detail.
I have the Philips Series 2200 EP2232/40 model at work and I can say it makes almost the same coffee at 99%.
When I make coffee, I leave the door open where you can put loose espresso, because I have noticed that sometimes it catches steam/moisture.
Some minor/insignificant negatives (if I can call them negatives):
- The water filter is not included in the package!
- Once, after I had made two single espressos, it showed an indication that the container was full and I had to empty it (the system probably got stuck).
- With water in the tank, just before the filter, it gave me an indication that it was empty.
Question:
The package did not include the GRINDER FINGER PROTECT part (part number 421945024711). This part is placed over the coffee grinder for protection, so that no one can put their hand in. Was it perhaps included in someone else's package? Or did I notice that it was missing alone?
I bought it for €218 and it really is worth the money. The filter is not provided with the coffee maker, any cleaning product you will need to buy separately. A very good purchase as you drink quality coffee, easily and quickly, and the house smells of freshly ground coffee. It makes quite a bit of noise when grinding the coffee (I mention this for anyone who wants to make their coffee very early in the morning while the family is sleeping) but the result is excellent!
First of all, let me start by saying that I have a great obsession with my coffee. I drink freddo espresso and my wife drinks espresso. Don't be discouraged at first because the machine, when you operate it from the moment you turn it on, needs to make 15 coffees and then it will settle down. It's like a little engine; it needs to work to produce good coffee. You will also notice it from the "cookie" of the coffee that it will produce in its waste. It will be sludge. You need to play around with its settings quite a bit. With the grind, the temperature, the amount of water, and the cream you want your coffee to have. I watched quite a few videos on YouTube. Previously, I had the Dedica from DeLonghi and I made amazing coffee with a cut portafilter, etc. But I don't have time at home. It is a little bulky, but don't forget it also has a built-in grinder. I haven't used the steam wand and I don't know if I will use it. It does not include the water filter that is needed for it to work, and you will have to buy it separately from the start. In the end, I found it for €215 and I have found my health (although at first, I almost lost it until I got it right). I should also add that most experts recommend an 80-20% arabica-robusta ratio, and that's where I ended up too. I am ABSOLUTELY SATISFIED and I have made up for the €5 I was spending daily on coffee from a well-known coffee company. Keep in mind that the price of coffee will also rise. That's all.
Good as a machine and fast...the only negative I find is that it makes quite a bit of noise during grinding and you can't make coffee if someone is sleeping in the house..
Previous experience only with Nespresso capsules in classic and Vertuo.
Personal opinion.
By getting beans from the café where I used to drink coffee, I now feel like I'm ordering it from there. It takes a little familiarization to get the ratios right based on the Greek reality, but it makes coffee just like in a café.
It fits exactly one package of 250g.
In the third photo, you can see the internal component that needs washing and its own grease on the rubber parts at regular intervals.
In conclusion, very satisfied. Leaving the capsules, I noticed a real difference
