J-B Weld Hi-Temp Red Silicone Gasket Maker & Sealant is an RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanized) silicone material designed for use on mechanical parts where higher, continuous temperatures up to 287º C or 343º C may exist. Upon curing, which occurs when the product is exposed to the moisture in the air, the silicone forms a tough, waterproof seal on most surfaces. It does not shrink or crack, withstands weather conditions, is sensor safe, and is ideal for many automotive applications.

Preparation - Application

Preparation:

For best results, clean and dry the surface

Application:

Apply a uniform, continuous ¼ inch bead of silicone to one surface. Place it in all bolt holes

Bond:

Reconnect the parts while the silicone is wet.

Secure:

Tighten by hand until the silicone begins to squeeze out.

Dry:

Allow to dry for 1 hour and then tighten an additional ½ turn.

Finish:

Scrape or trim off excess material. The silicone will fully cure in 24 hours.
