The Source Newton’s Cradle 52745

At first glance, the Newton’s cradle resembles a complex pendulum, but it is a demonstration of two fundamental laws of Physics, the laws of conservation of energy and momentum!

Five chrome-plated spheres hang, each from two strings. If you pull the first sphere out of balance and release it, it will stop as soon as it collides with the second, and the latter will be propelled with the same momentum that the first had upon impact. If you pull two spheres, then two spheres will be propelled. This behavior is due to the physical laws of conservation of energy and momentum.
