In the 21st edition of the pocket code, the new "Code of Criminal Procedure" is included, as it stands after Laws 5090/2024 (Government Gazette A' 30/23.2.2024), 5095/2024 (Government Gazette A' 40/15.3.2024), Law 5108/2024 (Government Gazette A' 65/2.5.2024) and Law 5134/2024 (Government Gazette A' 146/11.9.2024), which aim to harmonize the CCP with Law 5108/2024 regarding the unification of the first instance jurisdiction of civil and criminal courts. The effective date of the amended provisions with this law was set for 16.9.2024. The edition includes both the provisions effective from the commencement of Law 5090/2024 and the provisions up to the commencement of this law.

Specifically, the individual changes in the CCP with Law 5090/2024 introduce regulations for issues such as: - The abolition of the Five-Member Courts of Appeal and their replacement by the Three-Member Courts of Appeal - The extensive increase in the subject-matter jurisdiction of the Single-Member Misdemeanor Courts and the corresponding increase in the jurisdiction of the Single-Member Court of Appeal - The initial non-summoning to the hearing of police officers and other preliminary investigation officers - The expansion of the method of referral to the hearing by direct summons and the corresponding reduction of the judicial council process - The mandatory appointment of a lawyer in misdemeanors under the jurisdiction of the Three-Member Misdemeanor Court - The individual regulations for the postponement of the trial - The increase in the jurisdiction of regular judges in the MOD - The increase in the appeal limits of convictions and the regulation for granting the suspensive effect of the appeal - The increase in court costs, etc.
