Basically, the best choice right now in the mid-range category. I have always been against spending huge amounts on a mobile phone. Good or bad, mobile phones have a short expiration date. The battery ages, updates stop, and security gaps are created, and of course after 2-3 years you can find significantly improved phones for the same money. For this reason, I can't understand why someone would spend more than 200-300 euros on a phone in Greece. Unless they have it, if they are rich, then fine. I am not. So I have always preferred the price category around 150-200 euros because in this category you could basically get about 80% of the maximum, at 1/5 or even 1/10 of the cost. I mean, sure, flagship models have stronger chips, more memory, better cameras, and better screens, but is the difference in real use such that it justifies their terrifyingly superior cost? No is the answer. Especially for devices that you won't keep for many years, and there's a risk of them breaking, getting lost, stolen, etc. So, what I want to say is that this phone is basically everything the average user needs today. It has an amazing screen, a quite powerful processor, enough memory (I preferred the version with 8 gigabytes of RAM which I recommend, but for an extra 30 euros there's also one with 12, which I personally consider unnecessary for the uses I make, in 3 years when I get a new device then yes), enough storage space, a very quality camera (don't be fooled by the "low" megapixels, it has automatic shutter stabilization which dramatically improves the quality, especially in night photos). Basically, if you don't want the phone for gaming (and if you want a gaming device, go get a Steam Deck), and if you don't want it for photography (if you want a camera, go get a specialized one, no phone can match them), there is absolutely no reason to go for a more expensive model. This one will cover almost everyone today. Its positives also include screen protection with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, while it has limited protection against dust and water (it's not completely waterproof though). It's quite lightweight for its size, and comfortable in the hand. Lighter and smaller than the Redmi 10C it replaced, even though they have almost the same screen diagonal. Its operating system is clean Android (with some minimal extra Motorola apps that can be easily removed if you don't want them), with Motorola guaranteeing updates for years, and it will definitely see version 15, with very good chances for 16 as well. It has NFC, it's 5G. Its chip is Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, which is an improved version of the 695 that the previous one, the G84, had. Generally, it plays most games satisfactorily, for those interested in gaming. Multitasking is lightning fast. Its battery lasted for 2 full days with considerable use, after the first charge. With the genuine 33Watt charger from Motorola (purchased separately, the phone package DOES NOT INCLUDE the charger, only a USB cable), it charged from 0% to 100% basically in about half an hour with three quarters, somewhere around there (I didn't time it exactly). The sound is satisfactory and I didn't notice any technical issues, apart from the completely annoying problem that curved screens have, where sometimes as you hold the phone, they don't accept other commands with your fingers and you have to change how you hold it to continue using it. I wish it didn't have a curved screen; it looks very beautiful and premium, but in practice, it's worse. That's why manufacturers have started to withdraw them; it was a trend that has passed. Anyway, it's not a big problem; you get used to it. Overall, this phone is the best for the average user. If someone doesn't have high demands, they can spend 100-140 and get a lower-tier phone, which will be dramatically inferior to this one. Nevertheless, it will do the job. On the other hand, if someone has demands but not outrageous ones, nor are they a show-off wanting to flaunt their wealth, then this is their next phone. Preferably in blue, which looks very nice and has a nice faux leather texture to the touch.
Very good phone guys, I didn't expect it at this price. The operating system is crystal clear and super lightweight. Due to social apps and 5G network, my battery lasts about a day and a half. For me, it's vfm!
Take it with closed eyes, it's not the best phone but it's the best phone at 220 euros, it surpasses more expensive phones like Redmi Note and Poco.....just honest, it reminds me of the OnePlus One, half the price of the competition but with the same performance, it stands up to phones up to 350 euros
AMAZING mobile, wonderful screen, amazing resolution for movies etc. but what impressed me the most is its sound! Cinematic sound, makes the viewing experience enchanting. You forget that you are watching a series/movie on a mobile.
Generally very fast, sturdy, the screen is wonderful. I have nothing else to say, it is very good for its price. I would buy it again with my eyes closed.
The only negative in the 1 month that I have it is its battery....
I have been using the phone for about two weeks and I declare myself very satisfied. Its screen is excellent as it is p-oled while the viewing angles are very nice due to the curvature of the phone. Vividly beautiful colors while also having a long battery life that comfortably satisfies a full day. I have no complaints about the response speed; it is fair for its price. Also, the front camera is satisfactory thanks to the processing of the photos that happens after they are taken. I bought the 8GB version and it is just fine. Equally beautiful results with the macro camera. Totally worth it.
Very good and worth its price by far. Very fast in the menu and on the internet, with very good curvature resolution at the edges of the screen, good cameras and selfie, battery lasts 12 hours of continuous use on movies from 80% (with overload protection active) goes down to 22%, has very fast charging in 15 minutes goes back to 80% battery with a moto 30W charger. Memory 256Gb, already loaded at 185Gb opens movies immediately, with 8Gb Ram and expandable to 16Gb, it doesn't lag anywhere. It competes with phones of €600 and above. The only downside is that it doesn't have a radio, charger, and type C headphones. In the box, there is a silicone case, charging cable, and user manual. It takes only one sim (and e-sim) and a memory card, I have it with a 256Gb card full of photos that it opens immediately. I recommend it as a very economical phone for daily use. It is good, as with all phones, to put a wallet-type case for screen protection from drops and tempered glass. I have it with a Chinese wallet case that has saved it from several drops.
Very nice screen and it responds well to everything I do so far (Simple use, that is, browsing, videos, etc.). The camera could have been better, although I haven't sat down to experiment. A clear disadvantage so far is the software; although relatively lightweight, it doesn't offer many options for customization, or perhaps it's just not that refined. I believe that other companies have done a better job in this area. Of course, for the average user and if you don't want to spend a lot of money, it's a value purchase.

I wonder how Motorola messed up and sold us such a phone at this price; I feel like I got tricked. The phone could easily have double the price; it has nothing to envy from much more expensive phones. Coming from a Samsung A40, I can say that it is really very fast; as soon as you lift your finger from the screen, the response is instantaneous. The photos are very clear even in dark backgrounds, the sound is stereo and clear, but without much bass. It has a plethora of tools for photo editing. Its software is Android 14 and it receives frequent updates; it has a very nice screen that resembles a much more expensive model with amazing clarity even under the sun. The battery is very satisfactory; it easily lasts a day and a half with full use, but the best part is that it charges from 0 to 100 in one hour and fifteen minutes with a 30-watt charger. The only downside is the slightly curved edges of the screen, where no screen protector can stick well, and the only solution is to use a film.
The purchase was made for Android only. Indeed convenient without bloatware and ads, etc. The screen is very good for its price.
But! Previous phone Poco X3 Pro. Bought for the exact same price 4 years ago and as a system it was light years ahead!
MUCH better camera, MUCH faster processor, and I had the same data speeds without even being 5G.
The battery lasts 20 hours with light use. The POCO charged from 5% to 80% in 20 minutes. Full charge from 0% to 100% in 32 minutes. This one takes a full hour with the same compatible fast charger.
Anyone who finds it fast with a good camera, etc., I really don't know what you had before. Probably some matchbox with string and you were talking to the next rooms. THERE IS NOTHING OF VALUE IN THIS PURCHASE!
Personally, for the next purchase, I will go back to Chinese with custom ROM.
A phone with the same capabilities as the G85 in a Chinese brand would be at least 100 euros less.
Motorola seems to be making a crazy comeback. Bought for €220. The phone easily competes with phones in the €400-500 range. Beautiful, very thin with rounded edges, incredibly fast, perfect screen colors, amazing touch feel, loud speakers, and with a 30w charger, it charges incredibly fast. I have always been in the €400 to €500 category and I am amazed by the quality at this price of €220. It lacks nothing that more expensive phones have. For video and photos for what we want in everyday life, I consider it more than fair. If someone wants professional detail in photography, then they should go for a phone costing €600+. Other than that, you buy it with your eyes closed.
As a holder of the device for just 48 hours, I have to say that it looks more like a phone worth 300+ euros than 220 euros. It is definitely worth the money.
On the positive side: appearance, sound, stock Android camera, seamless operation, incredibly fast, received Android 14 immediately with the possibility of Android 15. It also received security patches promptly.
On the negative side: the lack of a charger, the absence of a jack port (I use Bluetooth headphones), and the quick battery drain for now. I hope I didn't get a problematic battery. For example, in airplane mode, it lost 20% battery in 6 hours. And this was with battery saving mode activated.
In my opinion, it is a phone that is 100% worth its price. Coming from a Redmi Note 11, this is much better on all levels (except for the battery).
Today, 9/12/2024, I was informed by the official Motorola site that the battery life unfortunately does not exceed 34 hours for an average user. It is a bit disappointing because my previous phone, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11, still lasted a minimum of 40 hours with average use even after 2.5 years of use...
So obviously, the G 85 does not last a whole day with heavy use.
Update 13/12/2024: The phone has only one slot for a SIM card. It does not accept a memory card or a second SIM unless the main SIM is converted to an e-SIM. The phone supports e-SIM functionality.
Regarding the battery, after about a week of use, it consumes 60% daily with 17 hours of moderate use.
On the negatives that I forgot to mention compared to the XIAOMI I had, is also the lack of built-in app locking and the inability to create duplicate apps (e.g., MESSENGER, FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, etc.).
20/12/2024: I would like to add the speed of unlocking either with a fingerprint or with facial recognition. Literally a bullet.
Update 20/1/2025: It turns out it does take a memory card under the SIM card slot. If you turn the card tray over, you will see it. I discovered it accidentally from a video on YOUTUBE.
Update 30/1/2025: After some research, phones with NFC, OIS (video and photo stabilizer), 8GB RAM/256GB ROM, OLED screen, and a decent processor for light gaming, multitasking, photos and videos, fast charging, battery protection from overcharging/smart charging, cost at least 50-60 euros more. Therefore, it is a phone that is worth getting from every aspect if you do not want to spend more than 200-210 euros.

I've only had it for 3 days, but here's what I can say for starters.
Positives: 1.-Battery, with heavy use it easily lasts a day while charging happens quickly.
2.-Screen, excellent brightness even under bright sunlight.
3.-Lightweight and thin device.
4.-It came with a case in the packaging.
Negatives:
1.-There was no charger in the packaging.
2.-There was no protective glass on the screen like other devices, but the fact that it has a light weight compensates/reduces the risk of falling and breaking
I think for the money I spent 200 without VAT it's very good.
Battery 2 days+ it's hard to find in a phone with a permanent 120Hz display.
Front and back plastic very thin and light it disappears in the pocket.
P.OLED screen very good.
Charging with a 33w charger 1 hour is good.
Fast in the first month 12Gb+4 we go for the second but it has a very very good and clean operating system without ads like some others.
Photos since no one prints them anymore I think we won't go crazy either.
If we want something better we go for 500+ euros.

The most beautiful phone of 2024, lightweight and with a very good screen and camera.
The phone for the money I spent (271 with shipping), is amazing.
It is very beautiful externally, with a very nice texture in hand and super light.
As soon as I opened it for the first time, it did almost everything by itself. It automatically transferred all the apps (that I chose to keep) and all the photos and videos from my old device (samsung a71), even from the micro-sd.
Its screen is fantastic. Nice colors and clear, even under strong sunlight while on the a71 you can barely see anything.
After a week of use, where I have stopped fiddling with it, its battery lasts 1.5 days (36 hours) with normal use, before I put it on charge.
I haven’t tried taking photos, except for a few test shots.
What I miss from my old device is the dual messenger (for the second profile on social) and the always-on display (mainly for notifications, which I prefer to keep on silent and understand from the icons that appear).
A big negative, although it makes the phone look gorgeous, is the curved screen. The reason is that no screen protector (tempered glass) fits well, and if you want some protection (which you do), you will have to go for tempered glass with glue. There are solutions with full cover cases, but the phone and its beauty get lost inside them.
Another negative is that you cannot reorder folders (only if they are on the home screen) and icons (only if they are on the home screen and only if they are not inside folders), but this has to do with the android version and it’s not a big deal.
However, I believe it is one of the best purchases I have made for so little money.
