Description

Heavy-duty crutches made with a steel frame. Maximum patient weight: 150 kg. They consist of the underarm support, the handle, and the tip that is covered with a rubber anti-slip end.

  • Code: 0812204
  • Adjustable in height.
  • Maximum patient weight: 250 kg.
  • Height: 1.20-1.40 cm.

Crutches are walking aids used by patients who are not allowed full weight-bearing. Useful in cases of:

  • Lower limb surgeries
  • Ankle sprain
  • Hip and knee injuries
  • Muscle strains of the lower limbs

The proper adjustment for crutches is:

  • Stand upright with relaxed shoulders.
  • The underarm support should rest against the ribs 2-3 fingers from the armpit.
  • The underarm support should not press the armpit.
  • Body weight is supported by the elbows and hands.
  • The handle should be adjusted to allow a mild bend in the elbows of about 20°.
  • The handle usually rests slightly above hip level.
  • The tip of the crutch should be 10 cm away from each foot.

General usage guidelines:

  • Wear flat, non-slippery shoes.
  • Your clothes should not hinder walking.
  • Remove bulky objects from your home that might obstruct your movement.
  • Be very careful when walking on slippery or uneven surfaces.
  • Rest when you feel tired.
  • Do not carry significant weight while walking. Use backpacks.
  • Check and tighten various screws.
  • Change the rubber tips on the crutch regularly.
  • Use covers on the underarm support.
  • Check the handle cover.

Ascending and descending stairs: When going up the stairs, the good lower limb (the unaffected one) goes first, followed by the crutches and then the affected limb. When going down the stairs, the affected limb and crutches go first, followed by the healthy one.

Review this product
  • Very sturdy, soft handles, but heavy. That is, they need to be handled carefully so they don't fall on furniture or the floor, because they will cause damage. If you don't need bariatric crutches, meaning you don't exceed the weight limit of the aluminum ones, get the aluminum ones. Overall, excellent but heavy.
