An anthology of short stories, from the mid-19th century to the interwar period, that examines the form of the archetypal evil of Greek dark folklore: the vampire. A collection of stories which, if read with today's criteria, can be categorized in the literary subgenre of folklore horror and focus on the –according to Montague Summers– "tradition that in Greece maintained its power more than anywhere else in Europe," that of vampires. From the primitive writing of Dimitrios Ainian to the dark humor of Ioannis Kondylakis and the chilling narratives of Kostas Pasagiannis, 13 short stories that draw their raw material from a mosaic of folklore traditions from all over Greece.
