The Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad features an extended layout, with document navigation keys for quick scrolling and full-size arrow keys for gaming. The scissor mechanism beneath each key ensures increased stability, while the optimized key travel and low profile provide comfort and precision when typing. After having used mechanical keyboards from Sharkoon, office keyboards from Microsoft and Logitech, this one has the nicest feel when typing. The Bluetooth wireless connection with windows (works flawlessly to the point where you don't realize it's a Bluetooth connection). For office work that requires use for more than 8 hours daily, I wouldn't say it dramatically strains the wrists. Its battery lasts about 4-5 days. The negative is: The F keys with extra functions do not work on windows, nor do the Numlock, del, page up keys... Personally, I overcame this issue by installing a program called Magic utilities and with a subscription of 15€ it works perfectly, without noticing any problem or delay in connection... And of course, this program gives you the ability to customize the buttons as you wish... So, 4/5 stars!
While it is one of the best keyboards for programmers and people who type for many hours with incredibly little movement in typing (and when you type for many hours, a mechanical keyboard with more key movement will tire your hands), it broke within two years! And when I say it broke, the numbers on the horizontal axis, no matter which one I press, it types something completely different or nothing at all, not what I intended to press... A great disappointment, even though it is high-quality with aluminum all around. What can I say, Apple, you never get enough money! Only now, reliability is lost for me.
Obviously, the 4 stars are for the price category and cannot be compared to cheaper keyboards in terms of design, build quality, etc.
In addition to design and build quality, the pros include the fact that it is both wireless and wired if you connect it with the cable (meaning you can use it even if the computer doesn't have Bluetooth). It works on both Windows and macOS with the corresponding key conventions (option = alt and command = windows key).
Due to its very low profile (it really blends in with the desk), it can be tiring to use with a wrist rest, so I consider it tiring for prolonged use.
Finally, although Bluetooth requires re-pairing for use with each computer, it should theoretically work with any open computer.
The only reason I leave a review and believe the only reason someone looks for a review on such a product is whether they will buy this keyboard or the one with the fingerprint button.
I got this one, and you who are reading it now, get the other one with the fingerprint. You will appreciate it a lot.
There is absolutely no reason for someone to buy an Apple keyboard unless they absolutely want to have the Apple keyboard because they obviously have a MacBook or Mac Mini. There are much better keyboards, much more user-friendly, that charge easier and faster and cost less.
Here there is no room for fanatics. Whether you like Apple or not, this keyboard is a top product. Design from another planet, build quality, key feel, absolute Bluetooth connectivity, battery that lasts for weeks on end. A friend below wrote that the only negative is the presence of the outdated eject key. And yet... this key is used for screen sleep on Mac through the Command+Option+Eject combination! If I have to find a single negative, it is the lack of backlighting. Otherwise, the keyboard is so irreplaceable that I now use it on Windows as well, either by remote desktop from Mac or by using the Synergy program for keyboard/mouse sharing. One last piece of advice: it's even more worth it if you find it in US ANSI layout (and not GR or UK), in which case it will likely be cheaper!
One-way street if you have a Mac device, however it is very lightweight and high-quality. It definitely takes 2 weeks to get used to it but then you can't let go of it. I got it in black and it's damn beautiful.
Only construction quality.... Insane price...
Very good, very expensive. It's probably worth it.
