Aquacel Extra AG Silver Dressing 15X15 Hydrofiber, hydropolymers, hydrocolloid dressing from Convatec. It contains Silver ions that provide broad-spectrum antimicrobial action.

It is used on wounds that are infected or at increased risk of infection. It promotes angiogenesis and epithelialization, facilitates the removal of necrotic tissue, has indirect hemostatic properties, and soothes burn inflammation. It is easily removed without harming the newly formed tissue.

It is the only dressing with vertical absorption of wound fluids, thus preventing the erosion of the surrounding healthy skin.

Indications:

• Pressure ulcers
• Non-healing ulcers
• Diabetic ulcers
• Coccyx cysts
• Burns of 1st and 2nd degree (donor sites)
• Bleeding wounds

It may be used as a primary dressing for heavily exudating wounds or for wounds in difficult anatomical areas.
