Good idea but poor construction. The fabric part tore easily in somewhat strong wind from the first use. It can stay in the ground but the umbrella leans and falls anyway. It can only be used with securing ropes. Also, the plastic part got twisted and couldn't be fixed. In short, it's not suitable for wind, it's only good for support and it seems like many of us made this mistake, meaning to use it for stability in the wind.
Kept it 4 times.
The 4th time, after removing the excess sand from the top (there was very little, not much weight), I pulled it all together with the attached umbrella handle.
The "fabric" part stayed in the sand.
It is a smart product, compact, economical, but problematic implementation
Easy to use, lightweight, does a great job in light breezes, in stronger ones it needs support from the umbrella strings
Very poor construction. On the second use, the top part that holds the umbrella came off and the fabric tore. It's not worth its money.
Very good product on its first use and helped a lot with stabilizing on a beach with rocks(!). Easy application and at first glance, it is a must-have accessory for the company's umbrellas.
If there is anything negative, I will come back with an edit.
Edit: I agree with the comments I saw below. It seems that the product has a general flaw. On the 6th use, while enjoying the easy application, unfortunately, the top part that holds the umbrella got stuck from the salt, causing it to detach from the pole (it is joined with glue).
However, the company Terra Nation, with which I contacted, sent me a replacement to continue my vacation within 3 days!
I will also use the second base and will record if there was any flaw in it. Anyway, its use is ingenious and does not require forceful action.
With the first use, the top part that tightens the handle came off, and with the second use, the fabric of the base, which is of poor quality plastic, got cut. If I could, I would give it minus 1 star.
Simply rubbish the watermelon..
