Description

Gaming keyboard by Ducky with RGB illuminated keys in US English. It is mechanical, making it ideal for gamers as well as for those who desire fast typing. It has quick response and accuracy, as its switches activate at half press, saving movements when typing. Compared to membrane keyboards, they last longer over time, but have the disadvantage of noise, which is often annoying for those around. It features Cherry MX2A Brown switches, are relatively quiet and more ergonomic than other types of switches. A middle ground that combines the speed of the blue switch for more efficient typing and the precision of the red switch. Considered suitable for typing and for gaming, except perhaps FPS games. As full size, it features all the keys of a standard keyboard along with the numeric keys on the right side. Connects wirelessly to the computer for greater comfort and flexibility.

This is my first mechanical keyboard as I was stuck and wanted a good keyboard with blue switches for my home office. I discovered it by chance while looking at more well-known brands, which all had some feature that personally bothered me.
First, I should mention that I use it with both Win11 and MacOS (Arm) without any issues with the connection or key combinations (the keys are only for Windows, so for example on Mac for Spotlight you press Win+Space, for changing language Ctrl+Space, etc.)

As for first impressions, it is a very high-quality keyboard despite being entirely plastic (but compressed-solid), it is quite heavy (it might be close to 2 kg), wireless, working with both Bluetooth and an adapter. I have tried it in both modes and it works normally for the use I want (MS Office apps) without disconnecting at all. Additionally, it has RGB lighting, but I set it to white, which I like more (Note: you don't need an app to set the pattern-color-speed-brightness, everything is done from the keyboard).

Personally, the only "significant" negative I could find is that due to its weight, if you have the feet open and push it forward to move it, they close. You have to lift it to move it. It's a minor issue; I've already gotten used to it. Also, it is the only product I have bought in the last 10 years that I actually needed to read the user manual to set it up; at first, I thought it was broken and wouldn't pair with the adapter, but you have to press a specific key combination to switch between the 4 devices it has in memory and between Bluetooth or adapter. So it's good to check them out; they are also available online.

MAYBE IMPORTANT IF YOU'RE A GAMER: I have noticed on Mac that sometimes there is a delay of fractions of a second for the letter I type to appear on the screen. When you write an email or type text in general, this delay is really negligible, but it might not be good in some competitive online game. I don't know if it is actually a keyboard issue or partial incompatibility with the Mac since I haven't noticed it on my Windows laptop, but it's good to keep in mind. Note that it has never caused double typing for me so far.

For home office use, it is fantastic. I'm seriously considering getting it in black with brown switches for the office because with blue switches, I will definitely be breaking balls.
