The nationwide written competition includes the following two (2) subjects/tests: a) knowledge examination concerning the assessment of general content knowledge, deemed necessary or useful for candidates to fulfill their duties. Specifically, the questions of the knowledge examination concern the following sections:

b) skills and work efficiency test where, in particular, language and numerical reasoning skills, analysis skills, problem-solving and prioritization in the workplace are evaluated, as well as characteristics related to effectiveness and quality at work.

Specifically, in article 6 of the above number. The decision 52/16-03-2022 of ASEP states that: "1. The nationwide written competition includes: a) examination of knowledge concerning the assessment of general content knowledge, as well as knowledge related to the nature of the specific branches of the announced positions, b) skills and work effectiveness test where, in particular, skills of linguistic and numerical reasoning, analysis skills, problem-solving, and prioritization in the workplace are evaluated, as well as characteristics related to effectiveness and quality at work. The examination of section a' and the test of section b' are conducted either by the method of multiple-choice questions or by text development or by a combination of both, according to the specific provisions in the relevant announcement".

Subsequently, the above article 6 was amended according to decision no. 65/2024 of the Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP) (Government Gazette 3345/12-06-2024/Vol. B') as follows: "Article 6 Structure and content of the nationwide written competition 1. The nationwide written competition includes a) examination of knowledge concerning the assessment of general content knowledge or knowledge related to the nature of specific or all branches of the announced positions or b) skills and work effectiveness test where, in particular, skills of linguistic and numerical reasoning, analysis skills, problem-solving, and prioritization in the workplace are evaluated, as well as characteristics related to effectiveness and quality at work or c) a combination of sections a) and b). 2. The competition is conducted either by the method of multiple-choice questions or other types of closed questions or by the method of text development or by a combination of both methods, according to the provisions in the relevant announcement. 3. The invitation/announcement specifies the method of conducting the competition, either in print or using electronic means (electronic examination) or a combination of them".

The collection of materials included in this particular manual has been based on secondary data after personal research on Greek and foreign websites, which are named with their source, in order to attempt the most efficient and effective preparation of candidates for the 1st Nationwide Written Competition of ASEP. At the end of the manual, the topics of the 1st Nationwide Written Competition of ASEP 2G are included with the answers from ASEP. It is noted that, according to a relevant amendment submitted to the parliament, the Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP) will henceforth post examples of questions in skills and work effectiveness tests, however, it is explicitly provided that the actual topics and their answers will no longer be published.
