Very high-quality construction from Mackie and I will start with the positives:
Strong and clean signal combined with enough sensitivity in the controls. It outperforms mixers from other brands in the category, which may even be more expensive.
Plenty of channels and compact size that can comfortably cover a trio, a multi-instrumentalist, or even a small orchestra. The pad switch on the stereo channels is very helpful in this.
Very clean and high-quality effects.
Does not overheat! It is rare for a 4-hour live performance in the same category.
If we add phantom power, extra studio outputs, and the very light weight and size, it is the best value for money in the category.
Finally, a few negatives:
The gain knobs protrude quite a bit from the overall construction, and although it is small and lightweight and easily fits in a bag, they can be easily damaged during transportation.
The power supply has an extremely thin cable that definitely won't last for years and requires careful handling. This can be solved by purchasing another one since the specs are not difficult to find.
Finally, as a negative point for some, the high sensitivity of the controls (which I loved) may make it difficult for those who are accustomed to the approximate adjustment of other well-known brands in the category, and they may find it challenging at first to achieve a balanced mix.
