My children drink it pleasantly, although they initially reacted. You can tell that it has natural ingredients and doesn't have any chemical taste like toothpaste to appeal to children. I have been using it for years for my little one, who is now 7 years old. I use it when she has a cough or a sore throat. I notice that it improves with use. I haven't had to use it for more than 2-3 days because the cough or sore throat subsides. Of course, we are not "very sickly", so I don't know if it works as effectively for other children!
