I bought this specific mouse to replace the Logitech M500, and it is much better:
1) In terms of construction, it appears to be much more sturdy than the M500.
2) The scroll wheel has a slight resistance for more precise scrolling. At the same time, it makes fast scrolling more difficult, but I prefer it because there are other ways for fast scrolling (page down, adjusting Windows settings for more lines per scroll).
3) Comfortable in the hand. I thought I would have trouble getting used to it because of the shape, but it is comfortable from the first moment. It seems slightly heavier than the M500.
4) It has 4 DPI settings (400/800/1600/3200).
It is the first day that I am using the mouse, so I will come back if needed. On the Logitech website, there is a program for better button customization, but I haven't used it (I am not a regular gamer). I bought it to use a higher quality mouse at a good price. And I am satisfied.
This mouse would be excellent if it didn't have an issue with the scroll wheel click after a while. It's the second one I've tried, thinking that the first one was just a coincidence, but both mice of the same model had the same problem with the middle button click. While the mouse is still okay, the other buttons work fine and overall it seems to be in good condition. However, if the click from the middle button goes bad, it's time to throw it away.
From the legendary mx-518 (the old ones know) to the G-402, Logitech outperforms all other brands by far. A mouse that has played 10 hours of World of Warcraft since the days of the first lockdown and has now developed a problem. A €40 mouse for 6 years of heavy use is a steal. Razer would sell it for €150.
Very good mouse for gaming. For years now I have been buying Logitech even though sometimes the scroll wheel of Logitech breaks. Nevertheless, I don't switch to another company.
It broke in a week and clicks by itself, when you take your hand off the mouse it moves slightly on its own on the screen even if you are not moving it
I have been using products from this company for many years. The casing of the cable has come off both from the end of the mouse and from the end of the USB. The wires are left exposed. For me, this is unacceptable considering that I have mice from the same company that are over ten years old and have not suffered the slightest damage... and the usage I make is generally very careful....
I bought this specific mouse in 2017 and used it until 2024. Despite the heavy use, it showed no issues in its functionality except for the rubber coating that started to wear out due to age, which was the reason I replaced it.
We got it for 3 colleagues in the office. Good in all respects and we were all excited until after a few months the problems started. The click of the wheel responds whenever it wants and the cable has worn out and exposed at the part that connects to the plug that goes into the computer. And on all 3 mice. We changed the cable, but the issue with the central click did not improve. Good mouse if you don't need the central click, otherwise definitely not
I love this mouse. I bought it in 2020 (for 80 euros) without knowing much about mice, just to play Fortnite. It has lasted me until today and I can say that I am very satisfied. It has fallen at least 20 times and it looks like new, it doesn't stick, nor is scratched anywhere. I wish Logitech had put a little quieter keys, which sound quite loud, especially at night when nothing else can be heard in the house. Overall, it is an excellent mouse, which I recommend without a second thought especially now that the price has dropped.
I have had this mouse for over 7 years (I have lost count) and it was like new until it "bent" from the many times I slammed it when raging, and the scroll wheel broke. But despite that, it still works perfectly fine. I am very sad about this and I will probably go and fix it because it is a wonderful mouse. Honestly, there is not a single negative thing about this mouse, it has perfect weight (not too heavy, not too light), it is extremely durable, and simply perfect in every way. It goes without saying that I will trust Logitech again
I have had this mouse for over 4 years and it has not given me a single problem, with daily use, everything works perfectly. Now, after so many years, I do not recommend it as the new series from Logitech has come out, which is better and at a similar price.
It is the best mouse for its price. It has taken many falls and has not suffered any damage. It is also very comfortable and the side buttons help adjust the sensitivity. I highly recommend it.
Excellent gaming mouse, I have thrown it around 10 times while raging and it hasn't suffered any damage. It is good for its price, although I recommend the G502 Hero which is almost the same price. I recommend it, although the G502 Hero is worth more and is almost the same price.
I have it for 4 years and it has solved my hands, it hasn't had any issues, I give it 4 stars because after a few months there was a problem with the wheel pressing but it is value for money
After 4 years of heavy 10-hour use, I decided to leave it in the cupboard because I got tired of it not breaking.
It's incredible that it hasn't had the slightest problem all these years.
Incredibly convenient mouse, especially if you add extra strips underneath.
By far the best
I had it for 1 year until I gave it to a friend of mine. It is a pretty average mouse and the g502 is much better than this. (POSITIVES/NEGATIVES are a little below)
POSITIVES:
1. Responsiveness. Of course, when the mouse has a cable, you know it will have good responsiveness and this one is no exception.
2. Design and build quality. It feels really nice in my hand and I have no issues with it.
3. Extras. It has some extra buttons that can be programmed through the software.
4. G-HUB. Very user-friendly software that allows you to customize everything.
NEGATIVES:
1. This mouse is old and has been replaced by the g502, which is a thousand times better.
2. Its price. It is too expensive for what it offers, and I would blindly choose the g502 if you like its design.
3. No RGB. For those who care (for me personally, as long as it works, it's enough), this mouse only has one color (blue) for the light.
I believe that the g502 has truly surpassed this (g402) and I would not recommend it nowadays. (I will add an EDIT in case I change my mind) I hope my review helped you with your purchase :)
As long as it was functioning well, it was good but noisy.
I have had it for many years and what I like most about it is its dimensions. Length 136mm Width 72mm Height 41mm.
And the customized buttons are very convenient.
After I don't know how long, maybe 5 years, it started having issues with the clicks. Either the left click doesn't work, or the right click, or the left click functions as a right click. It seems to be like a virus, but I reinstalled not only its software but also the Windows itself and nothing changed. I thought maybe the virus got into the BIOS, so I reinstalled the BIOS. And after that, I reinstalled without internet connection the Windows 11. The connection with the DNS domain server has no problem, maybe the only thing that has some issue is Chrome when I synchronize it, I don't know what's happening.
The strange thing is that if I use another mouse, it works, but if I use the G402 again, the other mouse may also experience the same glitches for a while, and this seems very suspicious to me.
I assume if it's not something related to the updated Chrome, then it must be the software updates of Logitech and Windows.
There is also this, but it didn't change anything

This problem, while looking to buy a mouse, I saw that many people who have the G502 Hero also have it over time.
Coming from the logi G400s purchase of 2013-14, the same is not but it is remarkable as well. It is beautiful and highly impressive in its functions. 9/10 compared to the G400s which for me is 10/10. Purchased the new one due to the left button giving out after 10 years. Flawless purchase and the G402.
It seems to be a very good quality mouse from the moment you hold it in your hand. It responds excellently to clicks. Even the scroll wheel seems quite sturdy. It might be a bit small for users with large palms (it has a relatively small height). I hope it withstands the test of time.
The construction quality is perfect, it works fantastically, its cable is simple but it won't have any issues, the middle wheel doesn't stick, it clicks smoothly, which is very good. It's worth its money
I have it for about 2 months now and it works like the first day, of course it's still new but it's okay. It has the right weight for my hand and its keys are very smooth, making overall smooth movements. The scroll wheel responds perfectly, I hope it lasts as long as the G500s that I still have.
As the owner of the G502 Proteus Spectrum (which broke due to my own misuse), I have to say that the G402 has a lot to envy. It has a very good grip, I would even say better than the G502, and it has been very convenient for me (I have relatively large hands). The sensor is excellent, accurate, and fast. Customization is also available. I would prefer it to be a bit heavier. Overall, it is a very good choice for gaming at a reasonable price with the quality of Logitech.
Unbelievable mouse!!
Today, 11/5/21, I received my 2nd Logitech G402 mouse.
I first got my hands on this mouse in October '19 and it recently broke, so I decided to get the same one. It lasted me about 1 and a half years, and for the 34€ I paid, it's a steal. I believe it's the best mouse for its price.
I have it for 2 years and it hasn't presented any durability problems, it is generally very good for FPS although I prefer slightly lighter mice. Overall, it is definitely worth its money
Awesome mouse, for those with small hands it may not be ideal, but it has incredible grip.
CAUTION! After a year, the scroll wheel click broke, something I heard from others as well, but Logitech sent me a new one because I was barely within warranty, the new one didn't have the same issue
