Titanium Shadow
The portable hi-res DAC/headphone amplifier hip-dac 3 comes in a sleek Titanium Shadow hue that exudes timeless elegance with modern sophistication. The change is not limited to aesthetics.
The aluminum casing of the hip-dac 3 incorporates new features that enhance your audio experience. It features two USB-C ports: one for audio and one for charging. A switch at the base activates iFi's iEMatch technology, optimized for headphones and earphones with high sensitivity, ideal for in-ear monitors (IEMs).
The device boasts upgraded circuits, including new metal capacitors for better frequency response. An updated version of iFi's GMT circuits, combined with a new crystal oscillator, reduces phase noise, providing clearer sound.
The portable casing of the hip-dac 3 easily fits into a pocket or bag, replacing the mediocre DAC and amplifier in smartphones, tablets, PCs, and Macs. Connection is made via USB-C, linking your favorite headphones for a rich and dynamic audio experience.
A critical factor for exceptional performance is the XMOS chip for processing digital audio. The hip-dac 3 features a 16-core XMOS microcontroller, programmed by the iFi team to optimize sound quality.
The hip-dac 3 features a true balanced circuit design, rare in its price category, which minimizes signal distortion and offers cleaner sound. It includes quality components, such as a custom iFi OV op-amp and a low-noise power IC from Texas Instruments.
Amplification can reach up to 400mW at a 32 ohm load, making it compatible with a wide range of headphones. It also effectively drives high-impedance headphones with an output voltage of 6.3V at 600 ohms.
The stage amplification features switchable power gain, PowerMatch, to ensure optimal power for your headphones. iFi's iEMatch technology enhances output for high-sensitivity headphones.
The XBass feature enhances the bass without muddying the mids, ideal for headphones and open-back earphones. It supports all your files, including MQA Hi-res PCM and DXD, with sample rates up to 384kHz, along with DSD from 2.8MHz to 12.4MHz.
The USB-C input supports audio up to 32-bit/384kHz, and the asynchronous design ensures jitter-free data transfer. Two outputs are available: a 3.5mm socket for single headphones and a 4.4mm balanced output for balanced connections.
