The Braker SV by MT is a full-face helmet that protects the entire head and jaw. For this reason, this type of helmet is considered the safest and most durable for both travel and city rides. It is made from thermoplastic, a hard material that is heavier compared to other materials. It secures with a microlock buckle, allowing you to fasten it easily and quickly. The helmet features the new European safety specification certification "ECE 22.06," which ensures that the helmet has been tested at 18 impact control points instead of the previous 6.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
Simply an amazing helmet! The best compared to helmets up to 350 euros! Very good ventilation visibility! Not too much noise! 5 stars on sharp helmets!
A detailed review of an amazing, all-safe helmet.
I bought this helmet for daily use on casual rides. Aesthetically, it is very beautiful and the internal glasses are quite decent. Time will tell if the mechanism will hold up.
In terms of sound insulation, it's okay. Obviously, above 100-110, the noise starts to become annoying, just like with many other helmets.
The airflow is also okay. It has vents that open and close, and enough air passes through. It's nothing special but definitely not bad or mediocre. It's just okay.
Aerodynamics: Again, it's okay. Obviously, it doesn't compare to the aerodynamics of, for example, my racing helmet, but it's fine. The helmet is not particularly affected by strong winds, so the head remains stable without requiring any special resistance.
Field of view (FOV): The field of view is also okay. It certainly doesn't compare to high-end helmets, but again, the helmet offers a decent field of view for this price.
So why am I giving 5/5 stars to a seemingly mediocre helmet?
Very simply because it has received 5/5 stars in confirmed impact testing from the UK government organization "Sharp Testing." I provide the results: https://sharp.dft.gov.uk/helmets/mt-helmets-braker-sv/
A helmet costing 100 euros that managed to get 5/5 in impact testing is worthy of immediate purchase. There are helmets that cost 500 and 600 euros that receive 4/5 or even 3/5.
I congratulate MT for this helmet, which can keep the average rider safe, at a price of less than 150 euros.
At the time this review was written (23/10/24), this particular helmet is the cheapest on the market that maintains such an impact rating.
If the budget is limited, you are looking for safety, and you just want functional secondary features (sound insulation, aerodynamics, ventilation, etc.), I highly recommend it.
Simply put, the value-for-money or the money/safety ratio is unbeatable.
