The Parkinson’s Faces Project presents impressive black-and-white portraits of individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. The portraits capture participants from one to twenty years after their diagnosis. The photographs offer readers of this book-album a glimpse into the personal stories of the patients, the duration of their diagnosis, and words that will inspire. Inspired by a black-and-white portrait of his good friend and caregiver, Alexandra, Nikolas Koukoulakis created the Parkinson’s Faces Project. Nikolas, who suffers from Parkinson’s, expressed his desire to photograph his friends who suffered from the disease through dynamic black-and-white portraits. Despite his personal struggles with Parkinson’s disease, he decided to revive his passion for photography.
