Agave syrup by Your Organic Nature in liquid form, is extracted from the leaves of the Agave cactus plant, following a special processing that does not exceed 45°C at any stage of processing, in order to preserve all its nutrients intact. Its taste resembles a combination of honey and caramel, and it is sweeter than sugar. It consists mostly of fructose and contains a large amount of inulin, a polysaccharide that is particularly beneficial for the intestinal flora as it helps in the growth of friendly bacteria. It is low in antioxidants, has a low glycemic index, and is a good source of vitamin C and B-complex vitamins. 100g of syrup provides approximately 310 kcal, while one tablespoon provides 78 kcal.
