The resolution of the TV is Full HD. TVs with Full HD resolution are aimed at consumers who seek higher image quality compared to HD Ready TVs. Full HD resolution, which amounts to 1920 x 1080 pixels, offers more detailed image reproduction, making these TVs suitable for watching movies, sports events, gaming, and other entertainment activities with higher image quality demands.
They are usually targeted at consumers who seek good image quality without investing in more expensive TVs with higher quality resolutions, such as 4K.
The TV panel is Direct LED. The main advantages of the Direct LED panel in televisions are the uniform brightness across the entire screen, improved contrast, and deeper black representation. The panel consists of multiple small LEDs that are placed behind the screen and can be controlled individually to offer greater accuracy in color reproduction and improved contrast. Additionally, TVs with Direct LED panels are usually less expensive compared to OLED and QLED TVs of similar sizes.
This model belongs to the broader family of Smart TVs. Smart TVs represent the evolution in television technology, as they incorporate Internet functions, allowing browsing of websites and the use of online applications (e.g., Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, etc.). They are, in other words, an example of the technological convergence between computers and televisions. The latest Smart TVs have the capability for full Internet browsing, while older models support access only to popular websites (e.g., YouTube, Facebook, Twitter) through appropriate applications.

Compared to the TCL 40s6203 that I had and accidentally broke, this one is better. I bought it mainly due to space constraints for movies (not for gaming at all). The reason I chose it is the direct LED (check on YouTube what it does) which makes the black much darker, and indeed compared to the TCL, its picture quality is far superior; this will be more evident in a high-resolution movie. Although I read online that TCL makes Thomson's TVs, the truth is they are different. The software is not the same as Thomson's; it is simpler and easier. Setting the channels to your desired number is the easiest and quickest I've seen on a TV—3 minutes tops. The Thomson remote is of much higher quality, with backlit buttons that light up as soon as you press any button, and it has two functions that are not present on the TCL remote. The first is the live TV feature, which allows you to enter the TV with one button, something that will help the elderly, as it is located at the very bottom, making it even easier for them to find. It also has another favorite button that you can set to whatever you want. Netflix, YouTube, Disney, Prime Video are standard buttons. The Thomson responds much faster when switching channels than both Samsung and LG and the TCL I had previously, but I noticed that this only applies when you zap one channel at a time with the +/- on the remote; if you zap using the buttons, for example, from channel 1 to channel 8, it will take longer to change channels, but still, it does it faster than the TCL. Even in adjusting the volume, it has a better response than the TCL, which took 2 seconds to display the sound indicator. The voice command works perfectly. In summary, my dilemma was the Direct LED that only Thomson offers in the 40" versus the HDR10 that TCL offers. Having both in my possession, I can confidently say that Direct LED and Thomson is the best 40" available on Skroutz
