I wanted to install an alarm in my house and ended up getting this camera since it sends you a notification directly as soon as it detects movement and at the same time, you have recorded footage. The quality is decent, you can clearly distinguish faces up to 4-5 meters. The night vision is also very good. The two-way communication has a delay of about four to five seconds, but it is very useful in case you want to say something to your child while using the camera or in my case, when a friendly face entered my house on my behalf and I directed them by seeing their movements. The connection with the application was extremely simple, unlike the previous Xiaomi application which was overly complicated and didn't work half the time. I highly recommend it

For the past 1.5 months, it has been covering the entrance of this specific area (photo). At first, with a connection through a mifi sim, I had some issues due to the disconnection of the mifi itself. Then, with a router with a sim slot from the same company, permanently connected to a photovoltaic inverter, the disconnections stopped!
In conclusion, I understood that in order for it to function properly and do what it can, it needs a basic stable internet... I repeat, a basic stable internet, not even perfect!!!
The speaker is impressively powerful, it picks up conversations from a great distance even if it's out of the camera's range. I don't even take into account the slight sound distortions due to air, I don't even notice them.
The tapo application is very good and detailed, but on the negative side, when the one-month trial of tapo care ends, it leaves a gap (it's very useful), and you either pay to have the convenience or you go with the limited settings, because without tapo care subscription, there is no possibility of AI detection or enriched notifications. So it limits the capabilities, and I didn't read anywhere in the manual how to do such a thing. (That's why only 3 stars).
Value for money.... Very good! I didn't expect it..... I've had it for 1 week, installation in 5 minutes very easily, Greek menu (some people need it). Good image at 720p that I have set both day and night! I have been using this camera for a year now to monitor my baby and the bedroom space in combination with a tablet. I won't say much. Easy connection (Android) and simple and understandable application. Excellent wifi reception. Very good image quality, comparable to more expensive ones, even in complete darkness. The sound is quite good. There is a delay in the video of about 1 second, which personally I find negligible. The construction is made of plastic, of course, but it looks and is durable. And finally, regarding durability... I will say the following. Because I didn't want to drill and screw it into the wall, since the solution is temporary and the child will move to another room, I placed it on a wooden surface with a thickness of 2cm and essentially created a base for it. I placed this on top of a radiator that was functioning normally in the winter (!). You can understand that the temperature of the camera was not just high... and yet it endured. It did not shut down even once and continues to work perfectly. Great value for money, and more, for me.

It has its own recording system, of course, and the ability to insert a memory card, which you buy separately. You can also speak through the application. The application is very good, fast, and easy to install, even if you have no experience. I will make some observations for those who have the camera or want to buy it.
1. I have it outside the main entrance of the house, without it getting wet, of course. The camera is a few meters away from the main staircase, and when someone goes up, it does not send a notification unless they approach the camera very closely.
2. In the place where I had it, it could see a little bit of the main road. When a car's light hits it, it detects it as movement. Also, when there is wind and something moves, like a leaf or any other object, it also detects it as movement. So, you need to adjust it in a way that you don't have many objects around it (although I noticed that with the wind, small particles moving in front of the camera are also detected as movement, so I'm afraid that in the summer, with flies and mosquitoes flying around, it will send unnecessary notifications). Try to avoid unnecessary notifications and, if possible, have no objects around it.
3. If you want to monitor your pets and want to receive notifications, you need to place it at a low height, at the level of the animal, so that it can detect it and send you a notification. It does not detect anything at a higher level.
4. The camera can only be manually adjusted for height.
Update: After 1 year with cold weather, heatwaves, and other difficult conditions, everything is working fine. The only negative thing I found with this camera is that you can't hear the speech and dialogues clearly, even though it is very close to the camera. Despite this, the camera is worth it
The camera is for indoor use, but I placed it outside the house door to monitor the entrance. It doesn't get wet, of course. The camera is fantastic both during the day and at night. It slightly pixelates when zoomed, but it's not a serious issue, you can still see clearly. The camera doesn't rotate with the application, only manually. It connects easily with the mobile application. It's worth its money and more. I've had it for a few days, I will come back for more information.
