Very good monitor for the money with a sturdy base and incredible colors. The monitor supports a 180hz refresh rate so if you have a PC it will make things easier for you and it will feel much smoother than 144hz and also than 165hz. It has a very good response time for gaming issues and runs even heavy games with ease.
Purchased for 118€ (30Dec2024) to replace a simple 1080p monitor at 60Hz with 5ms response (Asus VZ239) on a good computer, and the old monitor was connected to an older machine. The difference with the Asus VZ239 is very significant and is noticeable even from simple use like browsing in Windows / Internet, and even though they have the same resolution, the image quality is better as well as the response.
- In games, the difference is simply night and day (supports 180Hz at 1080p resolution, has built-in speakers (for simple standard use, to have them for listening without headphones or extra speakers), G-Sync, and also features HDR10. Now the 0.5 ms it claims, I believe is an exaggeration, but even if it has 2 to 3 ms, it doesn't bother anyone.
- You adjust it classically from the buttons on the bottom right, but also with the G-Menu software that you download from AOC's website.
- It has 2 HDMI outputs and one DisplayPort, and the package includes 2 quality cables (HDMI to HDMI and DisplayPort to DisplayPort) and the power cable (the classic thick 3-pin cable same as the one the desktop computer has, has a built-in power supply), a bit strange though because the monitor has low power consumption (about 21 to 40W) compared to large TVs or the old beige CRT monitors.
I didn't expect it, but it upgraded the graphics and the computer usage experience. Even for Office / Internet / Video Editing use beyond Gaming, it's enjoyable.
A good purchase as a Gaming monitor at this price in the 1080p category (I have it set to 120Hz), reliability will show.
The older monitor (Asus VZ239) was aimed at simple, long-term use, for office tasks, as it also had EyeCare technology, now as for Gaming, the Asus VZ239 will obviously waste good graphics cards like the AMD RX 6500XT or RTX 3050 and above. But it will fit better with much older hardware (e.g. GTX 960, i3 6100) or as a second laptop screen.
I have it and I've been using it every day for a month now, both for gaming and simple tasks on PC. The image quality is quite good, but coming from 24 inches, I can notice a slight difference in the pixels due to the size; otherwise, you get used to it. It's very smooth, and you can definitely feel the 180Hz and 1ms if you pay a little attention; these are not fake specs like others. The menu is okay; it could be a bit more straightforward, but it's fine. Also, the speakers, to wrap up, are what you would expect from a monitor at this price point, meaning they are only for last resort use, with very low bass and no real sound. I hope I helped
I ordered it on 12/8 and received it on 12/13 from the cheapest store. Quite a delivery time. As for the features, very good. The 21.5 LG I had bought 10 years ago seems slightly better in terms of sharpness, but the AOC has the same resolution in a larger size, so that’s normal. The package includes 2 cables, 1 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort. About 1.5 - 2 meters each. I am very satisfied so far, and the sync at 180hz and the HDR make everything look nice.
An excellent 23.8” monitor with 0,5 ms response time, hdr, fast ips panel and 180hz refresh rate. For its price it is the best monitor you could buy with a user-friendly menu.
