SUNLU Silk Filament

The Silk Filament is designed with additives that provide a subtle sheen without appearing overly shiny. Many PLAs contain various modifiers to achieve ideal printing characteristics or aesthetics. In silk PLA+, the additives create the characteristic luster reminiscent of silk. While mica is a common addition for gloss in paints, most silk PLA+ uses a small amount of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) to achieve the desired effect.

Since silk PLA+ is a polymer mixed with special additives, the optimal settings depend on the specific material, brand, and color. Calibration is required to achieve the best results with each silk PLA+ formula. For printing with silk PLA+, the printing temperature is slightly higher than standard PLA.

Recommended Printing Settings:

• Printing Temperature: 200℃-230℃
