It is very good and accurate in its measurements. The only negative is that it takes a little while for the temperature to rise and "lock" at the desired temperature for the food. If speed is a priority for you, you may need to invest in something faster. For me, it does its job and meets my needs in the kitchen. Especially for 4 euros with shipping, there is no better choice!
The Moller TP300 Digital Cooking Thermometer with Probe -50°C / +300°C [Price: 2.5 Euro] has some pros and cons.
Positives:
1) It has accurate measurements (I think...).
2) The probe is sharp if you want to stick it somewhere.
Negatives:
1) - It claims to measure up to 300 degrees. It may be able to measure them, but it cannot withstand them as a construction. After using it once while frying in a cast iron pan, the screen broke and showed 888.8. After a few times of banging it, it started showing normally again. Until I washed it once under the faucet (I was only aiming at the probe) and it completely broke, so I threw it away.
2) By the time it reaches the temperature of the meat, you have already lost the medium rare.
3) Completely plastic.
4) The probe is a bit small.
5) You need a flashlight to find the correct viewing angle to see the screen if there is even a little bit of smoke.
Would I recommend it?
- If you want it to monitor the temperature of your baby's milk, it's good. Other than that, it's trash.
WASTED MONEY!!!!!!!
In a minute and if it finds out what temperature the roast is! Goodnight I love you again tomorrow!
STAY AWAY! Luckily I only got it for 7 euros while it's being sold for 2 and 3 euros!!! Tragic
Excellent choice for cooking, baking, and in my case it was used to measure the temperature in the cream with which I fed baby parrots when their parents stopped. Since then, I bought 2-3 to have on hand as it is economical to the point that if they break, they go straight to recycling, it's not worth trying to fix it.
The two options for temperature measurement make it somewhat difficult and problematic to use. Switching from one unit of measurement to another is somewhat problematic. I chose it because of its low price and because it seemed user-friendly. It is not
For 3-4 euros, I understand that it offers quite a bit. But it takes too much time to reach its temperature and give you an indication (definitely over 10 seconds). It's worth giving +5-10 for something faster and higher quality.
Okay, what you pay for is what you get. It measures relatively slowly and when it exceeds 69 to 70 degrees, it starts to malfunction psychologically and jumps 2 - 2 degrees or it can go from 70 to 74. As for the pros, it has a hold button, so if you take the thermometer out of the burger and put it back later, it continues from the temperature it had before. Definitely not more than 3 stars, but the price is tempting!
It was purchased to measure the temperature of the water in the preparation of infant formula. Therefore, it has not been tested in anything extreme. Because of this, I did not search for something more specialized. I wanted something economical that would do the job. It takes quite a while to show the temperature, so I am deducting two stars. When the baby is crying and you are in a hurry, you want something faster.
It is a very simple thermometer that measures temperature accurately when you put it in, let's say, a pot in order to measure the weight of the milk. However, it flips to the other side and cannot be seen on the screen. This could have been anticipated. Also, I have no idea what the hold function does. Whoever knows, please tell me its use
Quite good!! It takes a little time to show the correct temperature, but it is user-friendly, functional, and very cheap.
Just be careful not to expose it too much to water because it will break. Due to my own mistake, it became useless (I had thrown it in the sink with the laundry and it filled with water) and I had to throw it away
For the price, it is quite good in terms of build quality. It is quite slow in displaying the temperature and you need to have patience, but you get what you pay for. Normally, I would give it 2 stars, but I'm giving it 3 because I didn't expect to get something better for this amount of money.
It's a waste of money. It takes endless hours to show a measurement. It's not worth the trouble. I bought another one, more expensive but super compared to this one.
Unfortunately, it's a waste.
The temperature takes so long to reach that the displayed indication is not practical...
Also, from a certain point onwards, it restarts without any apparent reason. I really wonder about the 4 and 5 stars that others gave.
I bought it to measure the temperature for melting candles, as mentioned by others it is quite slow and I'm not sure if it shows correctly.
The big negative thing I noticed was that at the beginning, while I was measuring inside the pot, either the readings were sticking or it completely shut down and I had to remove it from the pot. I thought it would stick due to steam, but in the end, it seems that my induction interferes with it
Simple and durable tool, it has a fairly high accuracy but not so great responsiveness. That means it shows the exact temperature but it takes a while to find it. However, I give it 5 stars because it works great for what I need it for and its price is very good
It does the job but takes a long time to show the correct temperature. The strange thing is that I have the same model purchased earlier and I decided to test them together and the old one is much faster. I suppose at this price it's a gamble whether you'll get a good one or not.
5 stars, because for the price of €3.90 (in-store, without shipping), I bought and tested it by boiling water quickly to see what it does, and it left me completely satisfied. It feels like a more premium device in hand, not like a Chinese one. We don't soak it or use it to cook souvlaki because it will break... come on, it only costs 4 euros!
The best and most economical. I use it to check the temperature of my baby's milk, so I have been using it heavily for 5 months and I am completely satisfied
I bought it so that I can measure the baby's water temperature before making his milk. I can't say that it helped me much because it takes a while to measure and I have to calculate and take out the water from the pot earlier. Also, I think it sometimes shows temperatures with deviation. Of course, for its price, it's good, but if I were to buy again, I would spend more money on something better.
It measures correctly and with repeatability, but man, it's painfully slow... I put it in my baby's milk and it takes about a minute for the temperature to stabilize... of course, with what you pay for it...
The thermometer displays the correct temperature reading, but it takes excessively long to show it. Personally, I bought it for cooking and baking, and yes, I think I will enjoy it.
For the money, it is very good, that's why it gets 4 stars and not three. The reason it loses the fifth star is because of the materials used and the fact that it takes a while to reach high temperatures.
This thermometer is just okay. For some reason, whenever it reaches very high temperatures, the screen cannot be read and it stops working. However, it works very well for checking the temperature of steaks.
For its price, it's okay. You need a few seconds to take the temperature, but okay, I bought 3 for 4 euros and I'm okay. I've had it for 2 months with frequent use and it works.
For this money, I didn't expect something much better. It does its job, but it takes a while to read the temperature, and after the first month, the battery didn't make good contact. I put a piece of junk inside the battery cover and it works. Look into it a little better before purchasing this product.
Price-quality ratio, perfect. I have already burned one, but it does its job just fine. The chicken dies of salmonella at 74 and the beef fillet is perfect after 56.
