The docking station allows you to connect your laptop to the monitor using a single cable, which simultaneously provides power and access to the wired network. The signal from the laptop is sent to the monitor. A second monitor can be connected to the DisplayPort (MST) output to create a multi-monitor setup. Thanks to additional USB ports, you can also connect a mouse, keyboard, or webcam to the monitor.
