Update 9/5/2021: So far everything is good with the machine, it makes great espresso. However, I haven't found capsules that have enough body yet. I have tried Lor Ristretto 11, Jacobs 7, Illy Normale, Dimello 9, and several Nespresso capsules, but I haven't found capsules that give enough body to the coffee. The reason I'm looking for body is because I also make freddo espresso, so I need a coffee with body to avoid dilution to some extent.
Update: 26/5/2021. For freddo, the best option is Costa Coffee 8, it has great body for coffee. Now I only buy that one. You can find it on offer for 27 cents per capsule, although you need to be careful with how they are inserted and removed, sometimes they can get stuck.
Update 19/01/22: Almost a year later, with 8-10 capsules per day, the machine continues to be satisfactory. There hasn't been any change in taste or performance.
Update 5/02/23: The machine continues to work properly and without any issues. It makes 2-3 coffees per day (using two capsules for each coffee). Now, instead of using the Nespresso descaling kit, I use a bottle of Delonghi descaler that I buy from Plaisio (with 10 euros, you can do 5 descalings). The prices of the capsules have increased dramatically, so we only buy them on offer. I usually get Costa Coffee 8 or 11 for 2.80-3.10 euros when it's on offer. Sometimes I also get L'or 11.
Update 15/4/2024: After 3 years of daily use, the coffee machine works perfectly. I definitely use 4-6 capsules every day. However, I had to do a COMPLETE CLEANING. I opened everything plastic on it, removed the mechanism, and cleaned everything. The coffee machine had incredible dirt inside, I even found mold in various places (the house is perfectly clean). You DEFINITELY need to do it too. The difference in coffee is drastic, and now it is much safer to use. I will provide pictures of the parts.

(Initial evaluation) I have had it for one day, so this is my initial evaluation and there will be an update after some time. Initially, it is quite small, which suits me perfectly. Personally, I used to make coffee either with a coffee machine (Delonghi) or occasionally with a Bialletti briki (which makes unique coffee with the right blend). However, since I moved and didn't have as much space, I bought a capsule machine to try it out. The process is obviously very easy (that's why people buy it), and the result is quite good, I must say. For espresso, it is almost the same as the machine. So far, I have tried two Nespresso capsules, one L'or, and one Illy. The results are more or less the same, I can say. For freddo espresso that I made (yes, I have had 6 coffees today), it definitely needs a double capsule to get the right amount of coffee. I will try a trick of double extraction with one capsule to see if it's worth it. In terms of cost, as I calculated, my machine used to make coffee for 0.50-0.60 euros, and the capsules range from 0.25-0.40 euros each (the ones I bought), so with a double capsule for freddo, it works out fine. Overall, I think it's a good purchase, the prices of the capsules have dropped, so it's not that expensive (if you buy in bulk and take advantage of any offers, you come out quite ahead). I will provide an update later.
Clearly less sturdy construction than the old good Essenza (also from Krups), which after many years started to have a problem with the contact of one button. Also clearly noisier. However, in the approximately 2 months that I have it, I haven't noticed any problem. It also has the convenience of automatic stop for espresso or lungo (which can be adjusted to the desired quantities). The manual is confusing with all these shapes and minimal text.
28/11/2020: Unfortunately, it broke a few days ago (at 2 years and 3 months) the capsule sealing system, resulting in half of the water running into the bin and no pressure when water passes through the capsule. Unacceptable for a product that claims to have the quality signature of Nespresso. Needless to say, I am changing the rating.
Excellent coffee for capsules. Obviously, it cannot be compared to a 400 euro machine that grinds beans....
If you use the capsule, it makes good coffee. It makes quite a bit of noise, so it's not suitable for someone to sleep in the morning while you're making coffee, let's say. I have a problem with the capsules; I called Nespresso, and they didn't help at all. The lid doesn't close because the capsule doesn't fit in its place no matter how I put it. I haven't tried any other brand apart from this company; if I do try, I will write again about how it went.
Here we have a problem. This particular coffee maker works in reverse, meaning the large cup gives a minimal amount and the small cup gives a very large amount. It must be a manufacturing error, or is this how this specific model is? Other than that, it is very good, as long as you remember that if you want a large amount you have to press the small cup.
Beautiful quality construction and makes quite good coffee, almost professional grade. It works with capsules from many manufacturers that are now available in supermarkets at amazingly low prices without compromising on coffee quality. In a month at most, you will have recouped the money you spent to buy it, considering that you will stop buying coffee from outside. The noise is normal, cleaning is super easy, and it takes up minimal space. If you spend another 40 euros or so and buy a milk frother, then you have covered all types of coffee you can make.
Purchased for a vacation home that is rented out to tourists. Quite a bit of noise. If someone makes coffee at dawn, you might wake them up. Some coffees I tried with an 8 Starbucks didn't impress me much. Not that it makes bad coffee, it's perfectly drinkable. At home, I have the De'Longhi Vertuo plus. Night and day. The De'Longhi is a step up in flavor. If the perfect coffee bought from outside scores a 10, I would give this one a 6 for its coffee. At my workplace, which uses capsules, it produces a watery brew, this one does not. It's strong even the double. I just worry about what I read regarding reliability.
After a year of daily use, it's worth its money. It makes a little noise but it quickly makes coffee, so it doesn't bother you. It's easy to clean and so far, it has taken capsules from many different companies.
Good coffee extraction but only with the company that fits! With capsules from other brands it usually does not have good extraction. Quite noisy for such a small machine. An extra that heats up quickly, cleans very easily!
Children, our machine, which is only 2 months old, broke down and they refused to honor the warranty because, they claim, it was not descaled. Nowhere in the warranty terms does it mention that descaling voids the warranty. However, I sent it back because it wouldn't turn on, and the Greek customer service was terrible. You won't get justice from them, they are impersonal and the phone communication was a waste of money. I will not recommend them again. The company is good, but don't deal with their service, it's terrible and they handle it poorly with many people
The best in coffee machines for ready coffee, previously I also had the pixie which, apart from the appearance difference, I do not see any other difference in the quality of coffee production. Great coffee without hassle and quite fast, also the classic capsules have many brands of coffee that have been involved, so you can easily find many alternatives compared to the vertuo.
One phrase. Value For Money! It works very well with capsules from other brands. I highly recommend choosing the Coffee Island bundle with the mix options
It makes satisfactory coffee but the build quality and service are unacceptable. Having the machine for 6 months and using it for 1-2 coffees per day, it stopped working and the service asked me for 69€, almost the cost of the machine, to repair it because, as they told me, it had been damaged by limescale even though it has a 2-year warranty. If it is going to break so quickly from something common like limescale and not be covered by the warranty, then the machine is not worth it.
Having it for 1 year and having prepared close to 700 capsules, I can say it's a warhorse. As for the coffee, my opinion is subjective as everyone has different preferences but it makes perfect coffee in 90% of cases with Nespresso, LOR & Lavazza capsules. With Starbucks, Dimello, etc. capsules, the coffee is awful and that's where the 10% failure rate comes in. The amount of coffee is adjusted by the buttons and detailed instructions are available on the company's website. As for maintenance, 1 descaling every 6 months and the machine will last for many years. I would recommend paying attention to the water tank as it can easily be removed accidentally because the support bases do not hold well. Otherwise, it is a machine that has proven its worth all these years on the market and does not ask for crazy money, offering tasty coffee. For those who like coffee with milk, I recommend the company's Aeroccino as it makes very nice froth.
7 years of continuous use without maintenance, without service, without descaling, I think it's finally over. 7 years, though, it was a beast. Fully satisfied.
This specific espresso machine lasted for 6 years while it was in a workplace where it was used by 4-6 people daily, with descaling every six months and without much care. Fast coffee without the cleanliness that a machine with a group requires and a wide variety of brands besides nespresso. There is a difference between the capsule and ground coffee, but it is more convenient and fast
The options are endless in brands and blends to find what suits you. You have ready coffee in the morning in less than two minutes. It is noisy but not more than the average espresso machine
Easy to use, heats up quickly, rich foam, takes up little space, sturdy construction, and nice design.
Ease of use, quick heating, easy to clean.
Coming from a regular espresso machine (Delonghi Dedica), the quality is night and day. The Nespresso coffee seems watery and without body (compared to Illy capsules and Illy ground coffee). For other capsule brands, the result is even worse!
In short, for anyone who truly knows how to drink coffee, this machine is terrible.
It makes a lot of noise but personally, it doesn't bother me.
I bought the device 5 years ago! It hasn't had any issues!! I clean it every now and then, we make 3-4 coffees a day!
No matter how much noise it makes, I wouldn't change it for any other!!!
I highly recommend it!
Small size, interesting color, fast preheating, easy to use, programmable coffee quantity, wide variety of capsules, shows sturdy construction.
Very noisy, poorly written manual (on nespresso.gr the instructions have explanations next to each photo).
I have it in my office for 2 years now, we make 6 coffees every day and it has never given me any problems. But every month I put 1 capsule for descaling and every 6 months or so, the descaling solution that cleans the entire machine.
In order to have a proper result, I will preheat it without a capsule on the Lungo setting to reach the correct temperature when I put the capsule with the coffee and to warm up the cup at the same time. Now, if it breaks, I will buy a new one, considering the money it has saved me multiple times
Dog.. a quality machine that makes good coffee but has a little issue with noise.. but overall everything is perfect, no need to look for something else
Putting 2 stars because of the noise, okay.. Dude, this machine is amazing! Yes, it makes noise, but it makes amazing coffee... I have tried Lord Starbucks and another cheap brand with different capsules, and it does the job... Get it with your eyes closed!
Small machine, convenient, very good coffee it makes. Heats up in seconds and overall simple and user-friendly. Recommended, of course.
Excellent machine... accepts most types of nespresso capsules, I have it for 4 years and it hasn't had any issues.... the only negative is the noise but okay for the money, let's not ask for too much.
MIRACLE MIRACLE. After 1 year of incorrect coffee quantity, suddenly it started to produce the correct quantities in the army and in the mug. Otherwise, you get what you give.
Excellent for its price! It accepts capsules from most brands, allowing you to switch up your flavors! Unfortunately, it does make quite a bit of noise, but it is value for money! I recommend it.
It definitely doesn't make coffee like a professional machine, but for personal use, it's top-notch!
With Nespresso capsules, it makes amazing coffee. With capsules from another company, it struggles with extraction
