The new edition of the volume Poems includes the Seferian poems that were in the book of the same title, which has been circulating from 1972 to the present. Additionally, for the first time, this new edition incorporates the poems from the Exercise Book B.

The editor of the volume, Dimitris Daskalopoulos, followed the editorial principles of G.P. Savvidis, as formulated in the editions of Poems and Exercise Book B to date. G.P. Savvidis' notes were revised, and only the necessary additions, deletions, mergers, and unifications were made.

The new edition of the Seferian poems coincides with the fiftieth anniversary of the poet's Nobel Prize award. Seferis' readers, both older and newer, now have the opportunity to engage with his main poetic output and to appreciate the various branches of his sometimes allusive and sometimes unexpectedly playful character.
