After 15 years of using power supplies from Super Flower, it was time to dedicate a little more time to share my overall experience. This company, which once manufactured top-tier power supplies for EVGA (such as the P2, G2, T2), has completely won me over. During this time, I haven't lost a single power supply or component, even when the electricity company does its own thing (I still have power supplies that are 15 years old). Especially with 2 servers running 24/7, knowing that whatever happens, I'm covered, and I prefer them over going to get others.
Now, more technically:
When I opened one of their models to see the components, I was truly impressed. The Leadex VII PRO surpasses it, of course. It has exceptionally high-quality materials that I found only in power supplies worth 400 euros (from those that have come into my hands), with Japanese capacitors rated for 105°C and quality transformers with ferrite cores. It also features built-in active PFC.
Protections included:
Over Current Protection (OCP): If it draws more current than normal, it shuts down to protect the components.
Over Power Protection (OPP): If the system requests more power than it can handle, the power supply turns off.
Over Temperature Protection (OTP): If it overheats, it shuts down to prevent damage.
Over Voltage Protection (OVP): If the voltage rises too high, it shuts down to protect the components.
Short Circuit Protection (SCP): In the event of a short circuit, it shuts down for safety.
Surges & Inrush Protection (SIP): Protects against sudden spikes in current.
Under Voltage Protection (UVP): If the voltage drops too low, it shuts down to avoid instability.
Evaluation:
Performance: 92/100
Very efficient, with 80 PLUS Platinum certification and stable operation in demanding systems. It easily handles 4090 (it also has the relevant 12VHPWR cable).
Noise Levels: 85/100
Silent Fluid Dynamic Bearing 140mm fan, which is only noticeable under very high loads, but still very little.
Build Quality: 95/100
Excellent quality of materials, I don't know if there are such premium components and durability that withstands the test of time at this price.
Features: 90/100
Fully modular design, with good protection technologies.
Overall: 90/100
Without being biased, one of the best power supplies on the market, ideal for demanding systems, professional applications, and everyday use.
Aside from my own measurements, similar ones I found, like those from hwbusters which were quite detailed, rated it with excellent stability on the 12V lines, while its response to sudden load changes was outstanding.
In summary, if someone is looking for a power supply that won't let them down, this one is truly unique in its price category. Personally, even with the intense competition that exists today in the market, I see that, despite the popularity of the company, it continues to surpass its competitors. It is one of the few companies that, instead of investing exclusively in marketing, remains focused on the essence: high build quality and durability.
