Description

The AMD Ryzen 5 5500GT processor is based on the Zen 3 (2024) microarchitecture. It features 6 cores with 12 Threads. More cores provide increased power for programs that take advantage of the presence of a larger number of cores. Threads allow the processor to run multiple applications simultaneously, completing tasks faster. Its maximum frequency is 4.4 GHz.

Cache Memory

The Cache memory it incorporates is 16 MB. Cache memory is a very important feature as the larger it is, the less time it takes for the processor to retrieve data from the computer's main memory, which significantly increases performance.

Socket AM4

It features the Socket AM4 and will need to be hosted on a motherboard with the corresponding Socket. It is an unlocked processor, which means it can be overclocked for greater performance. Finally, a heatsink is not included. You will need to purchase a separate heatsink for the processor, which is essential.

Suitable for working conditions

The Ryzen 5 5500GT is a powerful processor, making it ideal for work conditions where multiple applications and browser windows need to be open simultaneously. It also features an integrated graphics circuit that can be used for light gaming in case your system does not have a more powerful dedicated graphics card.

Zen 3 Microarchitecture

The processors of the "Zen 3" microarchitecture are designed for Gaming, offering up to 19% greater performance compared to previous generations, combined with up to 24% lower energy consumption. They feature higher bandwidth contributing to increased performance. The large Cache memory, double that of "Zen 2", promises minimal delays in core-to-core communication, something that Gamers will fully exploit. Indicatively, Gamers in 1080p games will experience an average performance increase of 26%.

Now AMD has brought the upgrade/evolution over the 5600G. The processor that came out in Q2 of 2021 seems to be stopping production, and its place will be taken by the 5600GT. I have both in my possession; they are identical with almost no difference in performance. In boost, this one is clocked a bit higher, but at idle, it is slightly lower. The 5600G often boosts to 4.4 without any reason when I have nothing like work on the PC. I haven't noticed the 5600GT doing anything. Obviously, with a good cooler (I use a Freezer 36), I don't see temperatures above 71 in a long stress test, and it's quite quiet since the fans run at 60-70%. Mainly at idle, it plays around 29C, with an average of about 38C with light workloads, which are very good values for an APU. (Ambient Temp 20-22C). I recommend it for a user who wants a budget processor for light gaming and doesn't have an extra 200 euros to spend on a RX6600.

Honest processor, for light gaming with the integrated graphics card, if you put it on an old motherboard and it doesn't recognize it, the first thing you should try is to do a BIOS resetting and then anything else

It was installed on an Asus prime b450m-a ii motherboard which fortunately allows for BIOS upgrades without the presence of a CPU. It worked right away as both a CPU and a GPU. I had already checked that it is supported by this specific motherboard. Performance is identical to the RYZEN 5 5600G, meaning even light gaming is possible.

Purchased for 110 euros, which I believe is worth it and then some since the package includes an AMD COOLER. Just know that when you order a boxed CPU (in a box), it must be shipped with a cooler, unlike those sold as tray which are just the processor alone.

It took a long time for the motherboard to work. I did 10 bios updates... iGPU with official driver doesn't give signal to the monitor... I had to buy an extra

Exactly for Greece abroad it costs 85 euros otherwise it has a fast processor. It has a cooler while on Skroutz it says that you have to buy separately whatever Skroutz.
