Step 1: After you finish cooking, let your cast iron cookware cool completely before rinsing it with warm water. You can use a small amount of soap. For stubborn stains, simmer some water for 3-5 minutes and then use the scraper once the pan has cooled.
Step 2: Dry immediately and thoroughly with a lint-free cloth or paper towel. Cast iron cookware does not like constant contact with water. If you notice a bit of black residue on your towel, it's just the seasoning and it's completely normal.
Step 3: Apply a thin layer of cooking oil or seasoning spray to the surface of your cookware. Use a paper towel to wipe the surface until no oil residue remains.
