The Backstage emulates the sound, high performance, warmth, and "crunch" of tube amplifiers and includes EQ controls for bass and treble, a 6-inch heavy-duty speaker, selected TransTube® overdrive, an Aux input for jamming along to your favorite tracks, and a headphone input. The key point is the TransTube technology, which emulates the sound of tube amplifiers without the difficulties and costs of tubes. The TransTube preamp adjusts the gain level from clean to metal, using a patented approach to mimic the 12AX7 tubes and their ability to generate even harmonic distortion.
