NEGATIVES
-The new Xiaomi software still needs some work, I’m NOT saying it’s not good, on the contrary, I previously mentioned it’s awesome, it just needs further improvements.
-Does not have a good IP rating (google it)
Owner for about 6 months, very good phone with amazing speed, fast without lagging anywhere but 2 negatives, first it doesn't have such a good battery, with enough usage it barely lasts a day and it's not justified for a new phone with a tireless battery, second that it doesn't have such a strong speaker but that doesn't seem like such a problem to me, the battery issue is important in a phone in my opinion. At least for a phone not of such a low budget, it should have a better battery.
Fast phone, with decent photo resolution for its category. However, the front camera falls short quite a bit compared to other phones in its category. Fast charging with the 67 W charger, but the battery capacity is standard for almost all phones at 5000mAh.
It was as I expected. Fast, reliable without issues.
I will get it for my wife who currently has the X3. That one turned out good but it's uncomfortable for her due to the heavy weight.
The X6 is quite a bit lighter in comparison.
I mainly wanted it so that I wouldn't have to wait at all when opening simple apps like Viber, maps, and home camera. It's a bullet. I used Shizuku and Canta to uninstall unnecessary factory apps, and I don't see ads anywhere anymore. There are instructions on the internet, but it takes 1-2 days for someone to deal with which programs can be deleted. At first, I wasn't comfortable with the touch screen response, but I made it more sensitive from the settings, and it's just fine now. It doesn't take a microsd card, but 512GB is more than enough for me. It doesn't have a 3.5mm audio jack, but there are wireless headphones on the market; if someone doesn't want wireless, there might be ones with a type C port, I haven't looked into it. Also, it doesn't have an FM radio, but I listen online. There's no simple way to charge the battery from 20% to 80% for longer lifespan, and I use an alarm clock to take it off the charger; I also don't use the fast charger included but a slower one to prevent the battery from overheating. I never cared about camera quality, but it's satisfactory whenever I've needed it. The only strange thing is that 1 in 20 times when I use Instagram, after a while, it lowers the brightness for no reason; a restart of Instagram fixes it.
The phone is amazing. It is value for money, fast, reliable, problem-free, and has a good feel in everyday use. I am very satisfied. BUT it has a connection issue with the car using Android Auto. From the information I found, I discussed it with mobile sellers, it is a known problem for all Xiaomi and Poco devices with HyperOS. An update is expected at some point that will solve the issue, but it has been delayed for several months. And for this reason, I give 3 stars until this is fixed.
Update January 2025:
The problem with Android Auto has been fixed after the HyperOS update to version 2... Now everything works perfectly!!! I give 5 stars...
I have been a owner of this device for 4 days now, of course it is still early to judge as the phone has not yet adapted to daily use. I only have positive things to say: very nice screen, fast, does not lag and does not heat up at all in any application I have used. The Mediatek Dimensity 8300 Ultra processor is powerful and will not let you down in whatever you assign it. The battery is excellent; with normal use, it will last you a day, and thanks to the 67-watt fast charger included in the package, it charges quickly. In the battery settings, I have chosen the balanced mode and not performance mode, and it is just fine. Also, in the applications, I chose to close them after 10 minutes of inactivity. Everything works smoothly. The new HyperOS operating system is definitely better than the previous MIUI. The speaker is loud for music, and during calls, they hear me and I hear them crystal clear. The cameras are fine during the day; after all, I am not a photographer, but at night in low light, it does lag quite a bit. But okay, it doesn’t bother me. In its category, I consider it quite good for someone who does not have high demands. I hope I helped some potential buyer. Purchase 31/10/2024 12/512.
Coming from the Poco x3 which had impressed me, I can say that this one disappoints me in some areas to the point where I regret my money.
On the plus side, it has a good weight, a fast processor, decent storage, a fast charger, an okay battery that lasts me a day and a bit with reasonable use, and the camera works well when taking photos outdoors during the day.
On the downside, the call sound is faint even at maximum volume, the screen brightness drops on its own in some apps, there's no notification light when there's an alert, it disconnects from my Xiaomi smart watch every now and then, and the camera struggles with night shots or in indoor spaces.
The x3 at €220 four years ago was super responsive and never had any issues or lag. The x6 at €350 probably isn't worth it. I expected more.
The phone is a star!! Beautiful screen. Lightning fast. Great photo quality. And the battery, with some tweaks, lasts 2 days. Coming from Note 9 Pro, my logic is always that what I get should be better than what I had. And not to rely on reviews and comparisons..
For almost 8 years, I have been buying midrange Xiaomi either for myself or as a gift, and I think this is the first time I haven't been equally satisfied and I will think twice next time.
First of all, among the things that are indeed value for money, the performance is solid (games, apps, etc.), the camera is at the level you expect for such money without comparing it to high-end obviously, and the sound/speakers/microphone.
A major downside is the battery life, which hardly lasts a day with moderate use, which is somewhat saved by the very fast charging with the original charger it comes with. You can put it at 5%, and in 20 minutes it can be at 70.
However, the biggest downside for me is its software, the hyperOS, which is like MIUI2 with its known quirks.
- It can kill apps like Viber, Messenger, WhatsApp, etc., rendering them useless, until you sit down and add them one by one in the settings to not kill them and pin them (with extra battery drain).
- There are random bugs with some apps, and if you look into it, you'll see other users saying "it's a known bug of MIUI/hyperOS." For example, Instagram will almost always go completely dark after a while.
- There have been times when the camera wouldn't open with any app and wouldn't fix with a restart. If it happens again, I'll see if it was a temperature issue.
These are things that annoy not only advanced users but also average users; if they don't have someone knowledgeable to fix them, it will drive them crazy. Some other negatives, like difficulty seeing when the sun is down, or ads in the original apps until you temporarily close them, were also present in the X3 Pro from which I upgraded (until it started shutting down on its own after three years), but I could overlook them due to the overall package. Next time, I will prefer something else.
I recommend this phone, it is the best in its category without exaggeration, very powerful, it rivals flagship processors, and the battery lasts two days with good use. If you push it, it lasts a day. The camera is good but not among the best, yet you will be impressed. As for temperature, it hardly rises at all; in Free Fire, it reaches 34-35 degrees, which is nothing. The maximum it reaches is up to 42 degrees. The phone is normal in terms of temperature. Also, it charges from 20% to 100% in 40 minutes. I have had this phone for a month and a few days; it is flawless. I would tell you to get it because at €350 there is no competitor. Its speed is unmatched. I have the version with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, but even a smaller version doesn’t change much, just the RAM and a bit of speed. If you have any questions, just let me know, and I will respond shortly. Goodbye.
Tip for the battery: in the first days, drain the battery quickly; it lasts 1 day. After 10 days, it stabilizes with the update and lasts 2 days with normal use.
Tip 2 for longer battery life: charge it between 20% and 90%.
Tip 3: In the settings, I disabled continuous use in apps that I don't use at that moment so they close after 10 minutes.
Tip 4: In the battery settings, I set for longer battery life and switched to 4G instead of 5G; I saw a big difference.
The phone is excellent. The -1 star is only for the reason that it does not support live view on the maps. I believe it will change in some upcoming update
I've had it for a month, black, with 512 memory and bought for €330. Simply wonderful! The new operating system from Xiaomi makes the difference! Perfect for quick image transitions, its flow is incredible, the resolution clarity is very vibrant. It takes photos and videos quite satisfactorily for its price. Calls and speaker have very clear sound. What primarily interested me was the processor, which is a BEAST and made the difference, along with its connectivity, automatically everywhere. It excels in Android Auto. While I was completely disappointed with the Poco X3 I had before, for 2.5 years, (also very good, but has limited life and memory, it would shut down by itself lately, constantly). Very fast with a stable and uninterrupted connection. The same goes for its other connections, headphones, TV. It may surpass many other more expensive phones, Samsung, iPhone, etc. The battery life might be its only downside. BUT, with usage without games and many videos, it lasts satisfactorily up to 1.5 days with continuous use of two SIM cards and many calls and emails, due to work. Moreover, its charger is amazing! In 20 minutes it goes from 15% to 100%. It is so perfect in all other aspects and useful in use that you forget this one drawback. Buy it without hesitation!!!
Very honest phone for its price, I've had it for about 3 months, it takes very nice photos and videos. What worries me is that when I get a call and talk, I can hear well from the right but I can't hear anything from the left. I don't know why this happens. Anyway, the phone is quite good, only positives!!
The phone is very VFM. Coming from Poco NFC X3, finally, the sound during calls is clear, the resolution in the photos was already clear, now it's even better. Battery life as I expected, with full use, it drains in 8 hours, but it charges fully in at most an hour. It's worth the money. The same features can be found for at least 300 euros more with other companies. I would buy it again with my eyes closed.
I got it as an upgrade from the Poco X3 NFC after four years, but I like the screen of the second one much more; the colors and overall it doesn't strain the eyes easily... even videos from YouTube or the lives, when I placed my phones side by side, the image on the X3 seemed better... anyway, the X6 Pro has a better aspect ratio since it has a wider width and shorter length... in other aspects, it has a better camera which doesn't interest me, it's a bit faster in navigation, not huge differences, and the speaker is at the same levels... I find myself preferring the X3 even though its battery has a big issue now.
After 5 months of having the phone, I have formed my opinion.
The phone is simply perfect for its price.
Huge memory, fast processor without crashing, and the camera is just fine for my tastes. I'm not a photographer.
The battery lasts well. I charge it at night, take it off the charger, and in the morning it has dropped by 2%. Phone calls, social media, and Google are the uses I make; no games, and at night it has 50% to 60%.
Very good choice for the money. Beautiful OLED screen, decent camera for the average consumer, very fast in daily use and multitasking, respectable for gaming and has plenty of storage. Only issues are the very mediocre battery life, it doesn't last a day with light use (over a few months, it may get worse) and finally the minor bugs that the respective Xiaomi software always presents, which personally don't bother me. For 2024, I recommend it without reservation
Without much ado, it is a fair and excellent tool for its price. Flawless so far for daily social use, apps. Good build quality while the battery lasts at least 2 days with considerable daily use. Very good purchase 12/512 at 325...
If you find reviews on the internet, they say it all (with a little search you can find it). The technical specifications of the phone are okay and do what they promise, nothing less, nothing more. A quite significant flaw of the phone is the battery; it doesn't last long. If you are into social media and watch everyone's videos... Then you will definitely need to charge it during the day. If you activate the power-saving mode, the situation improves, but some functions are disabled, not something tragic, but you lose a bit of the user experience of Android 14.
I take away one star because while reviews describe the screen as very bright, in direct sunlight... You look for shade to see what's happening on the phone. Of course, it is much better than a simple LCD screen, but I have seen Samsung that doesn't back down! Also, yes, the speakers are loud, but not so much that if you have it in your bag, for example, and you are outside on the street with noise, you can hear the ringtone. The sound during calls is just fine, and you can also be heard clearly and loudly by your interlocutor.
Finally, it doesn't have a notification LED like the older devices I had, which I can't get used to!
I have had the phone for 6 months. In terms of speed, it is excellent. Its screen is very good, although I might have preferred it to be brighter. The sound is quite loud and clear. The camera takes nice photos, as long as there is light, but it struggles a bit at night. Overall, it is worth the money. Time will tell if it will last. For now, I have no complaints.
For the money you spend, I don't think you can find anything better. It doesn't lag anywhere, has plenty of storage space, and HyperOS is quite flexible and customizable to my preferences, although I didn't notice a big difference from MIUI. The camera isn't anything special, but I don't have high demands. Some glitches are inevitably present, but they don't ruin the overall experience. The durability over time remains to be seen.
I come from the Redmi Note 8 Pro, which served me faithfully for almost 5 years, and if the screen hadn't broken due to a bad fall at the moment I took off the case, I would still have it. In most respects, the Poco is almost identical to my previous phone. Beautiful screen, but I didn't find anything impressive except for the deeper black. Fast, just like the previous one. Speakers are nothing special. I also didn't like the camera. It requires a lot of adjustments to work properly. With the slightest movement, the pictures come out blurry. However, the downside compared to the 8 Pro is the battery, which is TERRIBLE. With moderate use, no video games, and 5G turned off, the phone DOES NOT last a day. At best, late afternoon to early evening it needs charging. The battery is unacceptable, and I can't believe that my previous phone, even after almost 5 years of use, had a better battery than this one I just bought. I DO NOT recommend it, and I will probably push it for something else soon.
