  Whatever anyone says is an understatement. At 75 inches for €1600, I thought it was excessive... Initially, I intended to buy a TV of another brand s..g Q80d, but when I saw them side by side, I was mainly convinced by the sturdy construction with the two adjustable feet (in 2 positions along and in height) in contrast to the other one. As for the picture quality, it is simply very good for movies, consoles, and regular TV programs, without meaning that it can be compared to a TV costing €2500-3000. Its only downside is the sound, which, although excellent, unfortunately lacks bass; if it had a subwoofer, then there would be no need for a sound system. Overall, it is a cinema in the living room, but it is also perfect for everyday use! Simply perfect for its price!

  Sony guarantees smooth motion, color fidelity, and upscaling for low-quality content.

  It may not have the blacks of an OLED, but I don't think it will disappoint even the most demanding, because the overall picture, whether you're gaming, watching a movie, YouTube, etc., is stunning.

  It has many picture settings to customize it to everyone's taste, although out of the box it already has a very good picture.

  Its Android is very clean, pleasant, and user-friendly. Of course, it never lags and responds instantly to every press on the remote.

  At this price point (1300 for 65"), there are many options from Chinese brands and other premium categories with better specs (at least on paper), and those are excellent TVs for the average user as well. But if you want what you see to be as close to reality as possible without toxic colors, if you want smoothness, if you want detail, Sony is the only choice in almost every price category.

  Review for the 55"

  After quite a bit of searching, I settled on the X90L. I didn't go for OLED since I use the TV as a monitor for my computer for some hours during the day.

  Colors are fantastic and truly out of the box, although with a few minor adjustments you can take it a step further. Picture quality is very good without looking fake. Google TV is very user-friendly; in 2-3 days you learn it by heart even if you haven't used it before.

  There are reflections, but they only appear in dark scenes with backlight.

  Brightness is abundant; you can't max it out for any reason.

  Initial setup is very easy and quick through the mobile (if you have a Google account).

  Blooming exists, but to my eyes, it is imperceptible and doesn't bother me. It has nothing to do with the blooming we see in photos and videos from reviews as the camera's exposure is interposed. (Not just for Sony, generally for TV reviews).

  I think anyone who chooses the Sony XR series is doing so for the image processing that this processor offers. Like it or not, there is no competition in the market; the extra Euros you spend are noticeable and worthwhile.

  Also, for the few like me who will use the TV as a TV monitor:

  1) The TV recognizes the PC but doesn't lock you into PC or Graphics mode. This means you can switch the corresponding HDMI input to whatever picture mode you want with the respective advantages (image upscaling/processing) and disadvantages (input lag). For example, if you want to watch a 1080p video in a browser, the upscaling (Reality Creation, which works in ALL picture modes) will act as a filter over the video and improve it.

  2) The TV recognizes games and automatically switches you to Game mode as soon as you enter full screen and locks you there.

  3) 100% compatibility with AMD RX 7xxx series. The VRR works flawlessly, without stuttering, without losing the signal, flickering, etc.

  Don't overlook a good, certified HDMI 2.1 cable for PS5/PC/XBOX.

  It is the best and most reliable television available for this price. By far more reliable than OLEDs that suffer from burn-in. Also, since it is full array with local dimming, it is more reliable than the cheaper Samsung models that are edge-lit. The picture is completely natural, with not the slightest flicker, and the processor enhances the image at a very good level, always without making the picture look overly artificial like on other televisions. Unfortunately, however, despite having the top processor (XR), if the movie you have is of very poor quality, do not expect amazing results; the same unfortunately applies to bad and old television programs, such as "Konstantinou and Elenis," "To Kafe tis Charas," etc. Also, if you are watching from a USB stick, you need to have movies (over 20GB) with very good quality and they should have the h265 extension. Usually, the best quality will be through Netflix, HBO, Amazon Prime, Disney+, etc., and not from USB sticks. Also, you will get excellent picture quality from the Bravia Core that Sony has, which has some free movies and some for payment, but it requires very good internet, at least a 25 Mbps line.

  The menu is fast and does not lag at all, and the microphone on the remote control is easy to use. - The package includes 2 remote controls. The sound is very good; the virtual surround gives you the impression that you have a complete surround system, as there are multi-directional tweeters on the sides of the screen. The bass is not very strong, but overall the sound is very good. I was worried about the viewing angle because the television is VA and not IPS, but it is fully satisfactory, even though there is a corner sofa in the room and someone will often sit on the side; even at an angle, the television looks very good. Regarding the viewing angle, it is slightly better than the Samsung Q80D and QN85D; the picture does not darken excessively nor lose much of its color when viewed from the side... as I feared.

  On the negative side: many settings need to be done manually, but this is not a problem for us. Also, the other downside is that the HDMI eARC does not work with an old audio receiver, and unfortunately, this is a problem with all televisions; fortunately, we got sound from the optical fiber. Finally, although the picture is completely natural, in the same price range, the Hisense U8 has much more vibrant and cheerful colors, but at the same time completely fake and overly processed. Comparatively, the Sony X90L is similarly good to the Samsung Q80D and almost as good as the Samsung QN85D... However, in terms of build quality and brand reliability, Sony is by far the most reliable option available. The stand on the Sony (separate legs) is much, much more stable... we saw it in the store before buying it; the television did not shake at all... in contrast to the Samsungs that had a plastic central base and some were much thinner... Overall, a top choice for those who want the most natural result in the picture, without it being fake, while also being a reliable television that will last a long time.
  We also added the 5-year warranty from the store, which is definitely a very good solution to avoid the fear of something happening to the TV; through negotiations, they reduced the warranty price to €100. However, look at the reviews, for example, of the much older Sony x90j; there isn't a single disappointed customer, and this is not a coincidence. Sony is very correct and is worth its money.

  Edit 3/12: "Now there is also the Samsung qn90d at the same price, on sale due to Black Friday. However, the Sony we purchased has a more stable base - generally a more robust construction, and in the store where we saw both, the Samsung qn90d, although much brighter and with better specifications, had much more altered colors. Even the logo of the orange store, the Samsung qn90d turned it red; it might have been a matter of adjustment, but I have seen it in the qn95, which had the same issue, overly reddening faces."

  Very good for its price! It may lose a bit of black in some dark shots, but its image is amazing! It also loses colors when viewed from the sides due to the VA panel! So, it is not a good choice for those who have a large living room!
