Having seen these characters in the previous books, I won't hide that I was eagerly waiting to read their love story and finally discover the secrets that turned them from friends -> enemies, and in this book finally lovers. Oh, it was definitely a rollercoaster of emotions as their hatred transformed into deep love and explosive passion! Favorite trope & favorite couple of the series for me. Lucian and Sloan started their friendship in childhood, which was quite tumultuous for Lucian. The story alternates between the present and the past, and while Lucian evolves into a dynamic alpha male who has the power and money to destroy everyone, he still struggles with his demons and his obsession with the petite librarian. Sloan, having reached a stage in her life where she has done everything she wanted except for the most important thing for her: family. So she reevaluates her goals and her relationships. Until the animosity with the neighbor turns into something more explosive and hot... However, Sloan is ready for family and marriage while Lucian doesn't even want to think about it. Until he almost loses her... and then everything changes! How much I love this series, I have talked to you about it many times and I believe everyone should read it for both the protagonists and the secondary characters and the atmosphere of Knockemout!
