Pasteli is a sweet made from sesame and honey. It is a tonic delicacy, rich in vitamin E, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, iron.

The roots of pasteli start from Homer's Iliad. Towards the end of the 20th century, pasteli was circulating in Greece packaged in rectangular pieces of 120-150 grams with a fairly soft texture (melato). Today, pasteli is also available in the market in smaller packages and in products with different textures (melato, crunchy).

There are also other sweet products in which sesame has been replaced by nuts (mainly almonds).
