EDIT: The silicone strap is quite annoying and I had to remove it (in a non-reversible way). The stand remains excellent in terms of magnetic strength and flexibility of use.
I used the 2 magnetic stickers that come with the stand (1 black, 1 white) to magnetize my phone on my nightstand (vertically on the side) and in the bookshelf next to my desk. They proved quite useful, even if this is not their intended purpose.
It is worth mentioning that with the stand applied, the phone is magnetized by various metal surfaces e.g. some refrigerators and gym equipment. Presumably, this will also apply to other magsafe stands on the market.
