Description

RED SWEET PAPRIKA (or mild spicy) FROM HUNGARY No60 (ASTA 60). It enhances the flavor of most dishes and is used to season and color rice, stews, soups, as well as in the preparation of meat products mixed with other spices.

Paprika is often sprinkled raw as a garnish, but its flavor is better enhanced when cooked with olive oil. Ideal for Hungarian cuisine, such as chicken paprikash or goulash.

The red paprika powder of “ASTA 60” quality has a homogenously ground appearance with a slightly mosaic look, suitable particle size, faded red color with a yellowish-brown tone, typical aroma and mild spicy flavor.

Ideal storage: Paprika powder should be stored in a cool, dark, and dry place in a packaging material that protects it from aroma.

The genuine Hungarian red paprika is included in a list of categories to highlight the flavor differences. This list was named by the Hungarian government ASTA LIST.

  • Superior paprika powder: +4.00g/kg, +130 ASTA, sweet and typical flavor.
  • Fine paprika powder: 3.5-3.99g/kg, 110-129 ASTA, typical aroma and flavor.
  • Refined sweet paprika powder: 3.00-3.49g/kg, 100-109 ASTA, typical aroma and flavor.
  • Rose paprika powder: 2.00-2.99g/kg, 60-99 ASTA, mild spicy.

Paprika comes from peppers, which are native to Mexico and were introduced to Europe in the 16th century. The name “paprika” is Hungarian. In Hungary, there is a great variety of paprika with unique flavor and coloring properties.
