Having almost all the series of Xiaomi cameras, 5 in total, I decided to buy this one for the entrance of my apartment building. I saw it in operation at two friends' houses and I was amazed by its advantages compared to Xiaomi cameras. However, my two friends have the C320 and not the C310 that I am evaluating now.

So, let's go... Easy and fast connection. They even provide a sticker to mark exactly where you will screw it in. Very good construction, HOWEVER, they have left two thick cables, one for power connection and one for ethernet connection, which you need a box to hide. Amazing image quality day and night. One positive thing about the software, among the other terrible things I mention below, is that it notifies you if someone obstructs the camera, for example with spray or by covering it with anything.

But let's talk about the tragic software... the worst I have ever seen... it has made me want to set it on fire 30 times...

1) The application is the definition of sloppiness. Things thrown in the menu and it's hard to figure out.

2) The application repeatedly doesn't let you enter to see the camera hypothetically due to poor camera connection, while at the same time you receive real-time notifications. Can someone explain how this is possible?

3) Hypothetically, it claims to have person recognition, it mentions it as AI (artificial intelligence, I'm laughing), but it sends you notifications even with flies, car lights, and basically anything.

4) If you disable the other 2 notification options, it reports them as "intrusion" and "line violation" to hypothetically avoid unnecessary notifications from mosquitoes, lights, and cats. FORGET IT, you won't receive any notifications at all.

5) How is it possible that it doesn't have an on/off option???? For example, I'm at work and I want to turn it off because the cleaning crew has arrived and the camera keeps triggering constantly... Well, you can't simply turn it off with a simple on/off. You have to go into the terrible menu and either disable all notifications one by one or go and set specific hours for notifications.

6) The sensitivity setting, WHAT'S THE POINT????? None... Whether you set it to 1 or 7, it will still trigger for a mosquito.

7) The camera's highlight is the "Alarm" option. Yes, it has the option to trigger an alarm when there is a violation. It's not up to you... It triggers whenever it feels like it, even without activating it.

In conclusion, I was shocked reading all these positive reviews and seeing what a technological junk it is. If you want it for indoor use, yes, it will perform better than a comparable Xiaomi camera that triggers every 3 minutes, for example. But if you want it for outdoor use, just forget it. It will drive you crazy with notifications. However, the biggest flaw for me is the constant disconnections from the application. And it's even more frustrating because you receive real-time notifications but you can't see them because the application doesn't connect. So, it hasn't even been a week and I'm already considering a refund...

Update: And here is the proof in the photo, ladies and gentlemen... Countless notifications (around 200 because we had a move in the apartment building) as you can see in the arrow, and the wonderful Taros application saying that I don't have a camera and if I want to install one... and all this while the device is connected with a cable and NOT with WiFi...
I tried the free 30-day trial to see what I gain if I pay for a subscription... absolutely nothing... it remains garbage

  Excellent camera, perfect image and sound. TP-Link is top-notch in most of its products anyway.

  Aside from its quality, what impressed me about this particular camera (compared to the older ones I have) is that when it detects motion, it records everything to the card from the beginning, even before the motion starts, and until it ends. In the older cameras I have, the recording starts with a delay, so many times what gets recorded is useless.   For installation in an open porch. The Wifi one floor above was at maximum reception. Nevertheless, I bought a PoE adapter, Wifi extension, and 10m plain Ethernet cat 5 from a well-known store in Stournari, and it works wired only with that, which I placed inside a protective casing.

  It has a wide-angle lens and shows well at night as well as during the day. Of course, it captures many recordings, for example, when cats pass by, or when there are reflections from vehicles passing within the designated zones. This is expected since the operational basis of the cameras is the detection of differences in the frames of the recording, and they do not have motion detectors like alarms.

  Careful adjustment of the line crossing detection can help instead of motion detection, since the first monitors the movement to cover the condition. Unfortunately, the AI person detection does not have zone definitions, so it captures across the entire range, even areas you don't want.

  The app works well; it was easy to configure. Just a little caution when editing the zones, for example, sometimes if you don't lose focus from the zone you are editing, it may not save the new setting (??)

  It features motion detection, crossline detection, zone intrusion, person detection, wifi/wired indication, privacy mode, and alarm on the camera. It also has guest mode for TpLink accounts. And some extra smart actions, like smart home for many devices.

  I changed the notification settings on my phone for the app to create an alarm environment (and well) since the app only sends notifications to the phone.

  The most important thing is the installation on a stable base, with a box for the cables, etc. If this is achieved, then it works satisfactorily.

  I bought 6 Tapo c310 cameras.
  All 6 cameras work perfectly! The truth is that I was hesitant about the choice of cameras as some reviews I read mentioned connectivity issues with Wi-Fi, however, there was no possibility in my space to connect via Ethernet, so this option was the only way!
  After 2 months of experience, I can say that I have absolutely no problem with Wi-Fi connectivity and everything works perfectly!!

  The only issue I have identified and consider a bug of the app is that several times when I go to playback recordings, it shows me what has been recorded in fast motion, e.g., x4, without me having selected it from the options. I want to believe that it will be fixed in the future.

  In closing, because I read several comments mentioning unnecessary motion/human detection notifications, I confirm that this indeed happens and is quite tiring..

  However, I personally solved this issue; specifically, from the settings, I disabled motion notifications as many times I received notifications for no reason and kept only the human detection notifications active! Now I only receive notifications when someone moves in my space!!

  I mention this in case I can help someone who faced this specific issue!
