The AE309 is a slim floor-standing speaker with compact dimensions, suitable for medium to large spaces. Similar to the AE300 comparison, the AE309 offers higher levels of performance and finish than its counterpart in the 100 series.

The AE309 uses two latest-generation 130mm mid-bass units. It features a brand-new ceramic aluminum sandwich cone with a very shallow profile and an ultra-high force, long-throw motor system. This new unit offers improved dispersion, extends bass response, and generally enhances power handling.

A new 28mm aluminum tweeter has been developed for the 300 series, offering high power capability and low fundamental resonance to reduce distortion. However, the main benefit of this new design is the excellent dispersion characteristics thanks to the Wide Dispersion Waveguide technologies. The waveguides shape the tweeter's sound performance to match the woofer and provide a wider listening area.

The rigid, 18mm high-density MDF cabinet uses advanced bracing technology derived from the award-winning Reference series to reduce cabinet coloration and allow the new drivers to operate freely within the listening environment. The rear slot port enhances bass performance and has been carefully developed to reduce air turbulence for clean, undisturbed bass output. The cabinet base is pre-loaded with inert material that adds damping and reduces cabinet coloration. The inertia combined with the 8mm stability feet helps maintain stability and provides a solid foundation for the drivers to operate without cabinet resonances interacting with the floor surface.
