Tεχνολογία ECO E7
The ECO E7 technology features algorithms that work in parallel to manage power, temperature, and humidity, optimizing performance and saving energy. The E7 technology brings 3 important capabilities to the DD1 MK5.
New Heating Element Design: The heating element of the DD1 MK5 has been redesigned to maximize the impact of uniform air distribution, complementing the Auto Toggle function and increasing performance and lifespan.
Auto Toggle Power Saver: The Eco E7 technology has the power to do amazing things with the DD1 MK5. It detects the ambient temperature and humidity and automatically adjusts its operation from full power to economy or standby. This capability will reduce consumption by up to 40%. The DD1 MK5 features a built-in sensor that continuously detects the humidity of your air. It knows when to change dehumidification requirements. This ensures that the humidity level is under control and that you only consume energy when absolutely necessary and according to the operating mode you have selected.
Overdry Protection: Using any dehumidifier at high operating rates or in clothes drying mode for extended periods of time can create unnecessarily "overly dry" environments. The good news is that the DD1 MK5 knows when to adjust the dehumidification process when the air in the room becomes too dry.
Air Diffuser "3D-Louvre"
Air extraction with 3D-Louvre design for adjusting the distribution of airflow according to needs. Improves overall dehumidification performance.

I have had it for 6 years, The dehumidifier can barely cover a studio apartment, depending on the external humidity. In the best case scenario, it collects 2 liters of water in a day, which is the capacity of its container (very small), meaning that you will have to empty it frequently. As for the noise, I won't comment, most dehumidifiers, if not all, are quite noisy. Whoever wants to cover a larger space should prefer a dehumidifier with a compressor.
I bought a second ECO AIR dehumidifier.
I have been using zeolite dehumidifiers for years.
This one is just as good as other more advertised or well-known manufacturers.
I have had the first one for 5 years.
It made a noise after two years, like a bearing. It was repaired for 20€.
Other than that, it works like a charm.
It works continuously from the first cold days to the first warm days.
I have had it for 5 years and have tried it both in Athens (in an apartment and an old house) and in the countryside in vacation homes, and I am more than satisfied. Now, after so many years, it has started to have a smell, I tried to open it to do a good internal cleaning but I couldn't manage it. It works continuously even in smoking areas. Very high-quality construction.
After 2.5 years of use, I am completely satisfied. Quality construction with good performance. It takes - like all dehumidifiers - some time to reach the desired humidity level and then even on the low setting, it can approach dryness levels! The measurements are taken with a reliable hygrometer in a northern suburb of Athens. On the high setting, it is quite audible, but not annoying. On the low setting, it is essentially silent.
Owner here for 2 years, I can say that I am completely satisfied. I live in a coastal area and the problem of humidity is particularly high. The device adjusts the humidity of the space to desired levels, which is immediately noticeable to anyone present. It is almost silent at its lowest setting and also has an ionizer. There are 3 different options for the operating time and for adjusting the blinds from where warm air comes out. There is also a drying function, which is very practical for rainy days. In addition, I appreciate its practical size and overall simple operation. Just be careful with the filter. It should be cleaned frequently with a brush or electric cleaner. DO NOT wash it, as explicitly mentioned in the instructions
Ecoair DD1 Classic MK5 (D122) Dehumidifier, purchased in October 2019
Installation space: 42 square meters
Noise on low fan speed at a distance of 3 meters is 38dBA instead of the 34dB stated by the manufacturer (a significant difference!!! Every 10dB increases the sound power by 10 times!!!).
Noise on high fan speed at a distance of 3 meters is 48-49dBA, which is as stated by the manufacturer.
The high fan speed can practically only be used when there are no people in the house. You wouldn't want to read, watch a movie, etc. with the fan on high speed.
For regular use, you can't sleep with 38dBA, so the dehumidifier needs to be placed in an adjacent room with a partially open door, and then the noise drops to 31dB. On high fan speed, the noise is such that you can't sleep like a human, even if you leave it in the adjacent room.
The noise measurements were taken with a calibrated special measuring instrument.
The machine struggles incredibly to reduce humidity compared to the dehumidification function of the air conditioning unit.
In 8 hours on low fan speed, the dehumidifier reduces humidity by 1-2%, meaning, for example, from 75% it will go to 73%, while the air conditioning unit in 8 hours reduces it from 75-80% to 30% (the machines are in the same spot in the house and the hygrometer is at a distance of 10 meters).
When I reduce humidity with the air conditioning unit, the dehumidifier fails to maintain it, unlike the air conditioning unit which easily, quickly, and quietly reduces it (only 31dBA at a distance of 3 meters).
The reason I needed a dehumidifier is that the air conditioning unit lowers the room temperature, so in the summer, you have cooling and dehumidification at the same time, while in the winter, you freeze (this is because the heat is expelled from the external unit of the air conditioning unit and doesn't return as warmth to the house).
In summary: much noisier on the low setting than what the manufacturer claims, questionable performance as it struggles to maintain humidity in a house of just 42 square meters, high power consumption.
I bought it accepting the high power consumption in order to have a quiet machine on the low fan speed, but this turned out not to be true. Neither has the performance satisfied me, compared to what I expected from the machine's specifications and the manufacturer's description. Spending hours just to see a 1-2% reduction after consuming endless electricity is not what I expected. The air conditioning unit easily reduces it by 20% in no time. So, comparing the two machines, the dehumidifier seems like a toy from a dollar store and you can't really call it cheap.
I have no opinion on how other dehumidifiers in this price range operate.
I have had it for 3 years and the only thing I have to say is that it is excellent. I can now sleep without my head hurting the next morning. No stuffy nose, no sore bones, and most importantly? Clothes in the closet don't smell. It also has an ionizer for air purification. It does an amazing job at drying clothes. It doesn't make noise and it's very easy to empty the water if it gets full. Greece is full of humidity and it is now essential to have a dehumidifier. This one is excellent.
A few words about the product since I have had it for almost 4 years, "which shows that it is reliable in terms of quality and durability over time." It has been used in an island in the North Aegean with extremely high levels of humidity and it performed exactly as expected! Similarly, it was equally efficient in a ground floor apartment in Attica with similar humidity issues due to old construction and soil conditions.
I don't know if it is "the best on the market" (because I haven't researched the market), but I do know that this particular product works flawlessly and you can feel the difference immediately.
In addition, I would like to mention that it has a modern design, is user-friendly, and efficient (the water tank is sufficient to operate for a few hours, of course, when there is a problem in the area). I would buy it again because when I did my research, I saw comments from abroad, specifically England, where they have a big issue with this problem. This particular product was then considered one of the top ones with very good reviews.
Another reason is because it is made with Zeolite. Although there are now other products available (back then there wasn't a wide range), I still recommend it as an excellent product in my opinion, and the only negative aspect might be the purchase price. However, it is in no way comparable to cheap models that don't work in difficult conditions where you will need it.
I will start by saying that in Rafina we have terrible humidity. From the first day of operation, I woke up and didn't feel the pillow wet! 4 degrees difference compared to the outside without any other heating means, I opened the closets and they dried up! Basically, I am very satisfied. It doesn't have an accurate humidity indicator, but I don't care because I feel how much better the space is. It did a great job in the clothes program, I had set it with the time option it had and when I came home everything was dry. I haven't tried the ionizer because I wasn't interested anyway. As a dehumidifier, it is very commendable.
I am generally satisfied with the noise, as everyone makes noise and I couldn't sleep with any of them! The tank fills up in a day and it is quite lightweight, which is a big advantage. It is a good tool and worth its money.
After a lot of research, I ended up with the MK5 and so far I am completely satisfied with my choice. Low noise without vibrations and very good performance in humidity collection. In a space with a lot of humidity (north-facing room), immediate results and filling of the first tank during the night. It looks high quality and is smaller than the previous one I had for many years and gave to a relative. Also, a positive aspect is the transportation and emptying of the tank with one hand. It is lightweight and easy to carry...
I have it for a few days and the first impressions are excellent. It makes a big difference in a semi-basement space with a lot of humidity most days. It speeds up the drying of clothes when I hang them inside.
In the first few days, the drum fills up faster and in automatic mode, it selects the fast fan speed on its own. More comments will come in the winter when conditions worsen...
Very good, I recommend it. In a few hours, the atmosphere changed for the better. The humidity smell disappeared. Quiet and lightweight!!! Typical quality of plastics in its category.
After a few months, completely satisfied. I had a classic dehumidifier for years and I confirm the better performance, reduced noise that the desiccant-type dehumidifiers promote. Additionally, I will add the low weight and small size. In terms of reliability, it is still early, but so far no problems.
Very good. After six months, everything is fine without any problem. It barely covers the ninety square meters it claims. I move it from room to room for better results. Quiet and lightweight.... I recommend it.
On the low scale, it is quiet, quite user-friendly in its operation. The atmosphere and the quality of the temperature in the house have changed. I highly recommend it. Very good price and definitely worth its money
I bought it because of the reviews I read. The house where I use it is about 85 sq.m. I live in Ioannina where the humidity levels are high (over 70%). With continuous operation, the humidity drops to around 60%. The operation in economy mode (low) is relatively quiet, but in automatic mode, I believe it is the same as other dehumidifiers in its category (like Meaco). Every day I empty about 1 container (not more). I have no experience with other types, but I had the impression that it would reduce the humidity more (below 60%). However, it works well in a room as the air it releases is warm. Its volume is small compared to Meaco (I don't know if this is positive and if Meaco does a better job)
I have it here for a few days. So far, everything is good. If any issue arises, I will come back. I made the purchase due to the many positive reviews. The warranty issue requires attention. Despite my research, I couldn't find an Ecoair representative in our country. The seller assured me that there is relevant documentation inside! However, my fears turned out to be true. Only one website where you register your product! Specifically, TECHNICAL SUPPORT ECOAIR www.ecoair.org/eu/support. Luckily, I insisted on a condition for the purchase to provide me (as a minimum detail) the phone number of the representative in Greece. For those who bought and are wondering, it is 210 2838003. Have a great holiday season!
Update 2.5 months later. The feeling of temperature in the house has noticeably improved. I have it working for about 16 hours a day and everything is fine. The only negative is that it doesn't have an indication for the humidity level in the house. With the phone number I mentioned above, I confirmed that they do indeed handle the service.
Bought in March 2017, with a humidity problem on an island, space of about 85 square meters. On windy and very humid days, I collect 1-2 buckets of water per day. I recommend it, low noise, compact and easy to transport. Good quality plastic and overall it looks well-made. Although it has an ionizer, I don't activate it since the negative reports about ionization are increasing...
Very good dehumidifier. It does exactly what it says... I had a dehumidifier with a compressor and I changed it because the house never goes above 20 degrees Celsius. This one doesn't care about the temperature and is effective... The only downside is that it makes a bit more noise on the second speed for what you pay...
The construction quality is good, it effectively reduces humidity, but it takes relatively longer compared to dehumidifiers with compressors. The container could possibly be a little bigger, but it is sufficient if you don't mind checking it 1-2 times a day.
Very good dehumidifier, excellent build quality, the noise on the 2nd level is tolerable (on the low level, it doesn't bother at all), it reduced the humidity in a cold house from 78% to 55% in one day and maintains it at these levels working 7-8 hours daily.
Ionizer function pleasantly changed the environment of the house.
It doesn't have indicators, but for me, it's not necessary, the job can be done with a simple hygrometer.
Great for drying clothes.
When the tank (2lt) is full...which is considered satisfactory, it stops automatically and when you replace it, it starts automatically at the previous setting.
I would highly recommend it.
I live in a 60 sqm apartment in Rethymno, right next to the sea, and I had humidity inside the house that reached up to 84%...!!! I have had the dehumidifier for 2 months now and I only have good things to say. It took 3 days of continuous operation on the high setting for the humidity to reach levels below 60%. The atmosphere is now incredible and as soon as I turn on the air conditioner, the space warms up immediately... As for consumption, I can't say anything yet, but as for the noise, I would say it's like a lullaby...!!! I am very satisfied with the choice and I highly recommend it...!!!
This is the first time I buy a dehumidifier so I have no comparison data.
My preference: Desiccant and low noise level.
It operates for 20 days in an 80 sqm apartment in the center of Athens.
Moisture problem in a bedroom with external walls and insufficient heating.
The atmosphere has become much fresher and during hours when there is no heating, the temperature rises at least by 1 degree (in the area where it is placed).
I believe that the air we breathe has better quality because of the ionizer.
Noise: Quite noticeable at the high setting. However, if there are other sources of noise around (music, television, children playing), it doesn't bother. At the low setting, it is tolerable to the point where you can sleep. Of course, this depends on the individual. Personally, I can sleep without being disturbed, but the same doesn't apply to my partner, so it is turned off at night. During the day, it operates on automatic mode.
Conclusion: From my experience so far, I am very satisfied with the purchase. It does exactly what it promises. If anything unpleasant arises along the way (which I hope doesn't happen), I will come back.
I have been using this dehumidifier for 1.5 months. It is placed in a 110sqm house with 3 rooms, located in the hallway outside the rooms (which had humidity issues last year). In order to work for us, starting from about 70-75% humidity and going down to 55%, it took 3 days on the automatic setting, so it was constantly running at a high level. Afterwards, it maintains the result relatively well on the low setting.
The coldest room, without increasing the temperature, has a noticeable difference in feeling (more pleasant and tolerable compared to before).
As for the negatives: it does not have a visible humidity measurement and humidity level adjustment. For the price it has, it should have these features. Theoretically, it has an internal sensor, so it changes the operating level from low to high, but I haven't figured out which level it is, as with two external hygrometers (not very accurate, of course), this happens at a different humidity level each time.
A relatively significant downside is the noise on the high setting, although it is not unbearable. On the low setting, you can't even hear it.
The drying function for clothes did not work when I tried it once, even though I had it running all night.
As for the energy consumption, I still don't know, it will be evident in the next bill :-) but we definitely burn less heating (oil boiler) because the climate is more pleasant.
Just received it.
Presentable. Shows careful construction.
Within an hour of operation, I see the water level rising, while the air sensation improved.
Very low noise on the low setting. Tolerable on the high setting.
I currently do not detect any annoying smell.
The (Greek) manual states that the warranty is only valid in five European countries, but it does not mention Greece.
For performance:
Apartment: Agia Paraskevi - Attica (90sqm) built in '05, with double glazed windows and humidity before: 75%-78%.
It initially operated continuously for 4-5 days and extracted 2-3 liters per day.
Now it is consistently at 55-58% and I only use it when I see (on a digital hygrometer I have) that it goes above 60%.
For the device: it is quiet on the low setting. You can sleep with it in the room. Even on the second setting, if it is in the adjacent room, it operates comfortably and does not disturb.
Build quality: very good, sturdy, no plastic creaking, easy controls.
Just remember: 1. clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner (not water) once every 10 days
2. after turning it off, do not unplug it until the fan stops.
Now I am considering the 322classic for the village that has higher altitude.
It works better than expected with fast dehumidification, it is incredibly quiet on the low setting, so much so that at 5 centimeters the noise completely disappears. Plus, it has an ionizer. The only negative is that it smells a bit like plastic now that it's new, but I imagine it will stop.
In my opinion, a very good choice.
After about 1 year of use, I can confirm that the machine is indeed very good and works perfectly. The only negative thing I find is that after 6 months of use, it produces a strange noise like a knock on the inside when operating on the low setting (low intensity). However, it doesn't cause any problems.
03/05/2020 I'm coming back after 5 years of daily operation. It has started to malfunction, struggling a lot to dehumidify, the main on/off button is broken (I stop it by removing the water collection container), and on the drying setting, it turns off by itself and the fault indicator light turns on. I consider 5 years of lifespan to be too short, so I give it 3 stars.
