Description

The Intel Core i7-14700K processor is primarily aimed at users seeking high performance for multi-threaded applications and gaming. It is a particularly interesting member of the Raptor Lake Refresh series, as it offers an improved core configuration compared to its predecessor, the Core i7-13700K.

Specifically, the Core i7-14700K features 8 P-cores and 12 E-cores (28 threads), thus providing increased performance in multi-threaded applications. Additionally, it has higher operating frequencies, reaching up to 5.6 GHz with two or fewer active cores.

Comparison with the Previous Generation

The Raptor Lake (14th Gen) provides support for Thunderbolt 4 and Intel Wi-Fi 7 (5 Gig), compared to the Raptor Lake (13th Gen) with Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6/6E.

Intel's hybrid architecture is designed to leverage the most advanced technologies at the platform level, such as DDR5 memory type and PCIe Gen.5 standard. Thus, the specialized and integrated controllers in the processor offer support for DDR5 memory speeds up to 5,600MT/s and the PCIe Gen.5 standard (a total of 16x lanes PCIe 5.0 and 4x lanes PCIe 4.0 are supported).

Designed for the needs of today's gamers

The new optimized hybrid architecture and top-notch technology allow you to go beyond gaming and creation. From progress in gaming to progress in real life, Intel enables you to be your best self.

  • Performance-cores - Unleashes the potential to optimize the latest games and gaming software.
  • Efficient cores - Provides multitasking power to work, play, and most importantly, play together.

Overclock with ease

Customize your performance to meet your exact needs with the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility.

Smarter Gaming

The expanded Intel Smart Cache sizes accelerate your processor for stable gameplay and higher, more consistent FPS.

Unleash Your Imagination

  • The hybrid performance architecture can easily run background streaming software while prioritizing gaming.
  • Intel Thread Director dynamically assigns tasks, so you can do it all without slowing down.

Very powerful processor. Pro tip: even with very good cooling in XMP settings without any demanding overclocking, it heats up to a point that barely reaches the threshold. The solution is a small undervolt and it is perfect.

A solid choice for a combination of use in work (development/design) and gaming. For anyone who wants it for work, it's a no-brainer.

I don't think it corresponds to the money it costs; I'm not an expert, but a much older AMD processor performed much better

It was overheating at first and crashing in certain games, I just tweaked some power limitations (INTEL POR MODE) and it has been working perfectly since then, apart from the issues it gave me at the beginning.

Update: A new microcode was released in September for motherboards for Intel 13th and 14th generation processors that fixes the issue I mentioned above. Anyone experiencing problems with their processor should update the motherboard and everything will be fine.

An excellent product that, however, will show wear over time if not operated at the factory settings of INTEL.

Be careful not to do extreme overclocking as due to a manufacturing defect (material that wears internally in the processor) it will show degradation. The ppl2 at 300+w have been discontinued by INTEL.
In other words, it presented us with incorrect performance data during their presentation as now their performance has dropped by about 5%-7% depending on the motherboard manufacturer that will be combined.

There has been an upgrade of the warranty from INTEL, so make sure to register the product accordingly.

very good does not overheat anywhere, needs very good water cooling. I can't run cine bench on it because it immediately reaches 99 degrees. in call of duty 80-90 degrees. cs2 60-70 degrees.

I upgraded from an Intel 8400 .. okay the difference is ridiculous, very satisfied with the CPU overall .. it's a beast, it doesn't struggle at all. Playing heavy AAA titles on ultra graphics (1440p) it reaches temperatures around 70-80, I've seen it spike to 84 but nothing extreme … generally, in lighter games, it runs them easily without raising the temperature above 70. I can have many things open at the same time and it doesn't flinch. Satisfied with the purchase.

Top processor for all uses. Especially in gaming, it shines! And with motherboards that utilize turbo frequencies and overclocking, it doesn't hold back. Recommended with a good cooler to avoid it functioning as a heater :)

In my possession for 1 month, 9.5/10 in terms of performance compared to price, I must say.
Its use is purely for: Photo & Video Editing, 3d rendering, online courses & Vm's.
In terms of software, minimal gaming in forza horizon 5, call of duty, cs go2, Gta Vi.

I haven't seen it lagging anywhere.
In terms of temperatures, with a pure loop 2 fx 360mm in a Mini tower, 28°C in idle mode, the max temperature I have seen is 55°C in export rendering.
Power consumption is high, it's true what they've been saying for so long...
Overall, I believe it's worth it for heavy usage, just maybe a bit expensive. (Purchased for 475€)

In a CPU benchmark at 100% load, it hit 88°C.
    (running with 64gb 6400mhz ram)
Average operating temperature for anything browsing, photo-video editing, 3d design, multitasking, browsing (except during export) is 32 - 45°C depending on the % usage of the CPU.

The processor is a beast but a heater in terms of temperatures. I use a Corsair ICUE H150i Elite Capellix XT 360 liquid cooler that struggles to cool it down. When it runs for 2 minutes at 80%, it easily reaches 100°C. In a stress test, it hits 100°C within 30 seconds and goes into safe mode, reducing the speed. I don't know if there is a commercial liquid cooler that can mitigate its temperature. The only solution for using it at its limits is custom liquid cooling.

You should check the settings in the BIOS. I had 2 default settings that boosted the CPU to the moon and increased the temperature. After closing them all, everything was fine

    I upgraded from the 9900k!
BEAST, simply whatever you make it run, the only negative is that it requires very good cooling,
at least a 360 water cooler, I run it with a Noctua NH-D15 chromax which
keeps it at good levels in gaming, but in rendering and benchmarks it reached 100 degrees
so I limited it to 250 watts PL1/2 and undervolted it to 1.27 at 5.6 GHz, and now it doesn't exceed 88 degrees

I upgraded from 13700K to 14700K, so my opinion may not be so objective, and those who have 13th generation Intel may not need to upgrade. However, in terms of details, it is a more refined chip than the previous generation, with slightly better temperature management and 200MHz higher clock speeds. With 4 additional cores, it will help with multitasking tasks, and in gaming, it's not worth mentioning the 4 to 5 extra FPS with Nvidia 4080/4090. The temperatures in gaming, if there is good cooling, are very good and are the same as the previous generation i7, despite having higher power consumption in watts.
